Syringoma are harmless small skin-colored or yellowish, firm rounded dermal papules or cyst which are multiple and smaller then 3 mm in diameter. They usually starts in young age and sometimes other family members may also have been affected, but family history is rare. They are more common in women then men. Although most of the lesions are limited to the upper parts of the cheeks and lower eyelids, other common sites include the armpits, abdomen, upper chest, penis, and vulva. Although they are harmless lesions, most of the people wants syringoma removal for cosmetic reason.
Clinically, syringoma are often confused with milia, sebaceous hyperplasia, lichen planus, eruptive xanthoma, urticaria pigmentosa, or acne vulgaris or even basal cell skin cancer. So definitive diagnosis is needed with histological examination of the lesion. The characteristic appeareance of skin biopsy under a microscope is used to diagnose it.
Treatment of Syringoma is for cosmetic purpose only as these lesion do not harm. But syringomas of the eyelids and cheeks are often frustrating. Most of the literature suggests using carbon dioxide laser for syringoma removal. But no comparative studies and no long-term follow-up studies are available on which to base definitive recommendations for treatment. Some other treatment options includes Surgical excision with suturing, dermabrasion, electrocautery , Electrodesiccation and curettage, cryosurgery, chemical peeling and oral and topical retinoids. But none of this methods are 100% satisfactory.
There are some reports of successful treatment with carbon dioxide laser for facial syringomas. A report on dermatology online journal suggests the use of topical atropine to alleviate the pruritus in symptomatic eruptive syringoma. Unfortunately, there is no any standard treatment for widespread syringomas and all surgical treatments might result in scarring. There are many Over the counter medications sold on net that claims to remove syringoma but many unsuccessful results with scar formations are reported so be sure to use at your own risk. As these are harmless lesions so they can be just left if it doesn’t cause you worries.
There are no any proven home remedies for syringoma they have to be treated with special medical procedure so consult your dermatologist before trying to treat yourself. It can also be another disorder resembling like syringoma and may be associated with systemic problems.

Hi Guys, I just found this thread. I too like all of you discovered my syringoma recently and they got worst in the past year. There is a newer treatment called ‘Agnes’ which is a insulated Radio-frequency needle inserted into each lesions. This has to be repeated every 3 months for 3-5 times. At first your syringoma will swell and look worst for few weeks before your it reduces in size after the 3 times onwards so rougly after 9 months after your first treatment it should shrink. This is the only non invasive option that has had some success- developed by a Korean specialist. I did my 2nd session and still healing from swells. I hope this helps. If it gets better after my 3rd session, I will update you
Anyone who has tried natural remedy Apple cider Vinegar?
Same as everyone, i have syringoma under my eyes and few above, 33 all in all if im not mistaken. Yesterday I went to the dermatologist who practice herbal removal of syringoma, warts, mole and things related. It was a cashew cream (extracted from cashew oil) that they are using so no anestesia used. It was sooooo painful especially to me that I have low pain tolerance but for the sake of removing it I just cried during procedure and bare the pain. Now it still has those red bumps due to the cream they put but she says it will take 2-3weeks for it to heal. i already tried their clinic for warr removal and its a success so will wait patiently if the prodecure done to my syringoma works.
I had Radio Frequency on my syringomas and I will say they look 70% better. I’m doing it again in a few weeks. I’ll keep you guys updated!
Also, look it up about radio frequency, I guess that’s our best option!
This thread on syringomas has really been around awhile. I’m a 42 yr old female and first noticed a bump here and there when I was around 21 I’d say. In the last few years, they’ve seemed to grow more. I have read that avoiding salty foods can help them be less prominent on your skin and at times, I feel when I first wake up in the morning, they are flatter. I have not done any laser treatment or burning yet. One dermo quoted me $400 which seemed like a lot and she had no before/after photos to show me, so I’m not going with her. Going to another dermo in 2 weeks. I’m caucasian/Polish heritage woman. My sister does not seem to have these bumps that I do. I’ve tried the apple cider vinegar and also the lemon juice, but those “home remedies” did nothing. Unfortunately, any treatment is considered “cosmetic” but this is a condition that people say, “What’s wrong with your face?” or “Why do you have bumps under your eyes?” It’s not like getting a boob job or lip injections. This is a real disease that should not be considered “cosmetic” IMO!
I went to a plastic surgeon today to see if he could help me and he said nope. My Syringomas are way too advanced and it would be better to try a laser procedure. Trying to find a good dermatologists here in LA. Any suggestions?
So tired of this stupid syringoma… I’m the only one in my family with these bumps!
Hi guys, J also have syringoma. I look up at the internet and found out that there are home remedies to that. I’m trying the apple cider vinegar method. My friend treated her warts with just apple cider. I hope it will work out on syringomas too. I’ve been suffering from it for about 10 years already, and I’m only 17, turning 18. I can’t even follow my dream (-to be a flight attendant) because of this bumps, and scars. It really saddens me out.
hello i have syringoma on my chest hand and back, since when i was small and now iam 24 and the thing has stop.the explian to me that they r particulally 3 types, 1.comes and go back 2. it comes and at a certain level il remain constant 3.it come and continue .he said there is and oral way u canstop the syringoma but it have negative effect u wiildeliverd un macture children because il act on ur hormones so so……………
I have syringoma for 20years now and I have tried all the possible means to cure it but its still same my families thinks its contagious and without am lonely I wish to kill myself because no help again and in fact people in my society and families seems me as a different person hmmm God please do miracle ok
I made the attempt to remove my syringomas. I actually went to Kaiser panorama city skin center. The Nurse used a laser (Electrocautery) . She burned approximately 16 syringomas before so numbing each one of them with local anestia. The syringomas are now bigger!! She burned my skin more than the actual size of the syringoma leaving me with scars and now sagging under eye skin. This has been a total nightmare . It took 3 months to completely heal and the syringomas she treated are still very sensitive to the touch. They easily get pink if I rubb my eye or shower. If you have syringomas and they are barely noticeable leave them alone is not worth trearing them.
Very interesting post! I really enjoyed!
Hi everyone, it’s been a few years since my last post. I got my siringoma burned with the electrocautherization device. I went back to the same dermatologist who burned my first 2. I have to tell you all that he did an amazing job. It takes someone with experience to deal with this condition. It took about 3 times for them to be completely flat. I do have lighter spots where they were, but I will take that anytime before the bumps. I do go every year to him for a touch up, as you know some of them come back or new ones pop up. I know not everyone is the same, but don’t give up and find a good dermatologist. Best of all to everyone!!!
Hi,
I had my CO2 laser treatment for my syringoma at Belo Medical in Tomas Morato branch today. It was 95%painless, 5% was manageable, the staff applied anesthesia cream on my entire face for an hour. The doctor came and started to do the treatment.
After 10minutes of treatment, I guess. It was a success session and free of consultation fee as well. 🙂
I was advised to apply the antibiotic cream for a week and another cream for hyperpigmentation was prescribed to apply for a week also.
for 10 years i had wicked syringomas spreading in my face and making it swollen i take the treatment fractional c02 and lot treatment, still not remove and syringomas has deep problem to me because it make much ugly and painful the way i hate most. a month ago i got natural treatment from natural herbal center after 2 weeks taking this treatment it clean up everything so called syringomas and make me had smooth and fresh skin i got the treatment from.. flagstoneveneydel2q9+286pf6sbn72tflagstoneveneydel2q9+286pf6sbn72t@gmail.com">drgaligaherbalcenterflagstoneveneydel2q9+286pf6sbn72tflagstoneveneydel2q9+286pf6sbn72t@gmail.com
Thank you for this article, your article is all about syringoma and it really help me more to understand about it. I enjoy also reading your article..
I have noticed that they appear more prominent after I eat sugar.
Any one else notice that?
Here is some scientific, medical info on this combo treatment option:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9865206
I’ve had syringoma since I was 17. I am now in my 30s. There was a period of a few weeks that my syringoma disappeared from the area around my eyes. I believe that they disappeared since I was in cold weather and did not sweat during that period of time. That was the only difference in my lifestyle that I could identify. The syringoma reappeared shortly after I returned to hot, humid climate.
Hello,
I have dark skin i guess there is nothing they can do.please share with me if you know anybody can treat this syringoma for me.
thanks,
judy b.
Hi guys.. I have read all of your posts.. I too, skuffer from this condition. I am 28 now, and it started on a summer holiday about 6 years ago. I have, like you, trues so many different treatments. CO2 spot laser treatments 5 times, I live i Denmark where it is actually free, as syringoma is a diagnose. Perhaps it did make the bumbs a bit more flat, but only for a brief moment. I then tried the prestine herbal touch, which is a kind of acid you apply on yourself. I did it on 3 syringomas and it actually helped. They did not grew back. But it is a bit difficult treating, when syringomas tend to grow in clusters, and you are just scared all the time if you worsen the problem.. Now I have had 2 treatments with Electric needle (du lac). Hm, its a bit difficult to say if it has helped, cause I was told a need 6 treatments, and the two times was on different areas, and often one area needs to be treated several times before results. I was very red for 3-4 weeks though and still seem red if I take a Warm shower.. I was wondering if any og you tried the amazing touch?? Like all of you, this is a very big deal for me.. Sometimes I really feel depressed- and yes like you, I also know that some people have much worse problems, but all I see when I talk to other people is how lucky they are having clear skin around the eyes.. I hope someone Will respond 🙂 take Care and good luck!!! 🙂
Wow, so many entries – well my story is, I have had perfect skin all my life right up until about 2 years ago (I am now 58 years old) when i developed these little bumbs under my eyebrow, to the side of my eye and under the eye, also around my mouth. I went to a dermatologist and she said it is syringomas, so hence finding this post! I am Caucasian and I live in Jamaica, and these things seem to get worse and look more prominent when the weather is hot and humid, I can see a difference during the day they are bumpy and nasty, and at night they go down – very weird!! I think I am going to have to move to a cold climate!!
@linBON
Could you please let me know the contact information of your aesthetician in the Philadelphia area???
Thanks!
2stanjudystl@att.net.. R u sure..i’m gonna try this out.. lets see if it works..
Guys, try applying pure castor oil. It will shrink the syringoma and will appear less on around the eyes and will also lighten the dark circles around the eyes.
Just had co2ablative fractional laser for multiple syringomas under my eyes, between my eyebrows etc. i am a mess; the healing process is very slow for me. I am 7 days into this and now that the swelling is down i can see that the syringomas are still there; and where others seemed to be gone between the eyebrows, are now showing up also …..i started with one syringoma at the age of 32 and i will turn 60 this year. While i have gotten more over the years, it has been the last 5 where they have really multiplied very fast to the p oint of getting new ones at least every 2 wks!! Which is why i finally broke down and went for the laser…..tried the eletrocauterization needle in the past but when the scabs fell off, the syringomas where all there. So i am going in for my checkup today…as i am still in pain under one eye and i can see large lumps and missing pcs of skin. the other eye is healing well, but like i said, with the swelling gone, i see the syringomas again. Since it is only day 7, i will keep you posted and let you know if all this hell was worth it.
Hi, I have multiple syringomas on my chest.
I tried different methods to remove it (CO2 laser, liquid nitrogen etc) but always got scars.
Now I found the web-site about Naturalis Syringoma Treatment. The price is really high for me,
considering, that I am living in Russia.
How tried already this cream and can share with me your experience?
Many thanks in advance!
I have started a fb group Called “Syringoma Awareness” everyone here who wants to share their story with others feel free to join. THANKS!
I am so happy I found this page a lot of people don’t understand what we go through everyday because of this condition. I have had syringoma since I was eight years old. It bothers me alot because it makes me look wrinkled around the eyes at 19 and it takes away from my beautiful face. Its on my neck, my chest, forehead and of course around my eyes and its a lot.At 16 I did a patch test with laser surgery but they basically came back but got a little flat and the dermotologist wasnt satisfied with the results and basically said she couldn’t help . Now I try to use makeup but its still very visible even with make up so am on to finding me something I plan to see another dermotologist after I have saved up enough money. I don’t kno why more attention isn’t paid to this condition though because they spread rapidly and often ITCH maybe its cause am black and I live where its HOT 24 hours a day why my eruptive syringoma is soooo bad. I don’t care what the doctors say I will find something to improve them because I’ve proven that when u leave them alone they simply get worst!!!! Ill update u guys when i discover it but in the mean time make up!!!!
Hey, again an update. I’ve undergone two sessions since my last update. One of the sessions did not yield much results, so I asked the doctor to turn up the power a little. Result was again slight hyperpigmentation (I am positive I can tackle that) and some of the pescy bumps actually disappeared. I now had my last treatment (I am a little scared she turned the power down again, because it seems that the swelling in crusting is less this time) for some time, and am in the scabbing process. So, on the upside: some of the bumps actually DO react to this treatment!! and as it is so much milder than laser, I can return to work next day with makeup. On the downside: the process will go on until the end of this year, with a probable pause during the hot summer months. also on the downside: I can forget the sun this year, shades are a MUST so as to not make PiHp worse. but still, I am positive.
Hi, just a quick update:
1) after roughly 3 months, the pigmentation change has gotten A LOT better. The darker areas are not completely gone, but it is OK to leave the house w/o makeup again. I used pigment lightening agents (EUCERIN even brighter) every day twice on the area, and above that I use make up and/or eye cream with sunscreen (SPF 30 to 50). The area has indeed become slightly better as for the syringoma (everything else would have left me speechless, considering the damage done to my skin!!) but still – they have not vanished, even in the treated areas some are still there and re-growing. Therefore I have decided to go for a somewhat gentler alternative, which may mean more treatments per year (mainenance) but reduce the risk of scarring: I am now with another doctor, who treats the syringoma lesion-by-lesion via radiofrequency (which is a lot better considering the delicate under-eye-area). I have undergone one session four weeks ago, and the treated spots have decreased in size noticeably (even though they are not completely gone). Healing was rapid, the scabs formed after 1-2 days and after one week everything was more or less back to normal. Normally, my hyperpigmentation would have occured 2-3 weeks after the procedure, but there was none this time. I have returned to the doctor yesterday to target more lesions. Today, the treated area is red and swollen and scabs begin to form – but in NO COMPARISON to the laser treatment. I am in the office and doing well (with antibiotic powder + makeup, though). The only problem I see is that the numbing cream makes the targeted area swell slightly before treatment, and it then is hard for the doctor to see all the lesions I would like to have treated. I have another apointment scheduled in two weeks; I will keep you up to date on the recovery and the outcome. Let me just tell you: hyperpigmentation is awful, I would rather go for a less invasive procedure (like now) several times a year then go through all the pain, swelling, infection and hyperpigmentation that the laser caused… (and just to remind you: I am fair-skinned central European – hyperpigmentation can happen to almost every skin type…)
I have tiny syringomas which developed over the last 3 years, from tiny spots to now still tiny blisters. looks like chicken skin under my eyes, and, in the right light, looks like a scarred area… very uneven. Had KTP-Laser done under one eye. some are a little smaller now, some have grown after the procedure (and this is really WEIRD – it is like they surfaced and now look like persistent pimples). But the worst part is the discoloration. everywhere the laser touched the area changed to a yellowish brown color. I do work with make-up now and skin lightening creme, but it will be a long process and I am everything but happy. i am fair skinned with dark hair – before you do laser, please remember to do a test spot!! for me, the hyperpigmentation developed roughly 2.5-3.5 weeks AFTER the procedure… its nothing I saw immediately.
This is all pretty bad for me – I am from central europe, its neither hot nur humid (only in summer) and it seems that nobody has this condition – only I do. I am also the only person in may family having developed those pesky bumps. Good luck to all of you 🙂
This is such a frustrating condition! From reading these posts, it seems like diet/hormones could be one of the causes. I noticed mine getting worse during pregnancy. Has anyone seen changes in their syringoma after seeing a homeopath or by changing their diet (eliminating diary or other foods)? I am up for trying anything but would be interested to know what has worked for others.
has anyone ever tried desyingnoma by amazing touch?
Has anyone ever had them cut out? My dermatologist did a biopsy, cutting a small piece of my skin out. His recommendation was to continue to cut small pieces out and let the skin heal. The part he cut out healed fine. Wondering if anyone else had this done. Mine are located under my eyes.
I read through a lot of yourcomments. Boy are we all in the same boat. I’ve had mine since I was 12 and now I’m 52. For you younger people suffering with this it does suck but it does get better. I still have them but they aren’t as noticeable now and you start to accept things that you can’t change as you get older. I’ve tried everything mentioned above and even vicks vapor rub (which kind of helped) They seemed to have quit coming on which also helps. Why these new lasers aren’t zapping them completely off is strange.
Didn’t you heard that there is one of the best doctor in the whole universe. He have three answers for each request, He always says: SURE, WAIT OR I HAVE BETTER PLAN FOR YOU, but He never says NO. Request Him and have the best way. He name is “JESUS”.
Hiya
Just to mention to previous post radio surgery is same as electrosurgery/ electrocautery etc – they are the same thing ie – burning just under a different name. After speaking to many derms both private and public sector – they say electro cautery is as good as laser and cheaper. Please don’t bother with laser – waste of money. Electrocautery will flatten a bit but it will probably recur in 6-12 months depending on individual. Fake tan/ under eye concealer helps with confidence and trying to feel confident – don’t avoid eye contact etc. Please check out Utube video from girl with very healthy attitude towards this condition. Enjoy life x
As a child I often wondered what the white bumps under my grandma’s eyes were. I always thought maybe it was just because she was elderly. However, now at 31, I too have the same stinkin’ bumps. They showed up a few years back, and I went to the dermatologist. When he said that I would need lazer surgery to remove them, and it would cost $300 for each syingoma, I totally broke down in the office. I bawled the whole way home. I surely couldn’t afford that! I have tons and some of them are so shallow and close together that they look like chicken skin. I am embarrassed about them, and makeup doesn’t help. The same dermatologist said they would come back anyway, even with surgery. After reading everything on here, I see he was right. Why can’t they figure out how to get rid of them??? Its ridiculous that we all have to just “put up with them”! I am so glad to have found this site, because like many of you, I seriously thought I was the only one my age dealing with this! I have picked few off my face over the years. I used orajel to numb the spot and a sterilized sharp needle to pick the skin until I saw the white bump. Then I used tweezers to put it out. It left a scab, but didn’t come back. I didn’t notice that it scarred, but I think I would rather have scars that can be covered with makeup than the syringomas. I am going to a new dermatologist next month, but I know he will say the same thing the other dude said, so I’m not getting my hopes up. I’m not going specifically for the syringomas, but for adult acne that just will NOT go away. Its worse now than when I was a teen.
I have also developed clustered white bumps under both of my eyes. My dermatogist says there syringoma…I am so devasted about this skin condition. After reading all the post, it doesn’t seem as though the treatments ( hyfrecator, CO2 laser and etc.) really helps treat syringoma but often makes it worst. After surfing the web, I found a trial research spanning 4 years in CURING Syringoma using intralesional radiofrequency. I am hoping this procedure is the CURE, and it would be available in the states soon! Here’s the report regarding intralesional radiofrequency in treating Syringoma!

Its been 11 days since my last update. I went to my derm this morning, he seems pleased with the results. the two areas he treated are still a bit red but the bumps are gone and he says the areas look flat and smooth to him(via magnifying glass) I am still a bit concerned the one of the treated syringomas has a slight scar, even though its not as noticeable as before(I am apllying vitamin e to the areas twice a day) The derm suggest I wait a few more weeks to see how much more it heals before doing any more syringomas. If it heal without any scars, I will considering doing the next 2 biggest syringomas. Anyway its a wait and see right now. Good Luck everyone. I will probably keep updating every 2 weeks or so.
I have had syringoma under my eyes for the last 10years. Whilst they are difficult to get rid off , with persistence in treatment , you can get rid of them. I have used a combination of exfoliation using glycolic acid products and cauterization. Some need multiple treatments and continuous treatment is needed. I have gone from having 20-30 under each eye to having 2or 3 that I am currently treating . If you a persistent , you can get rid of them and keep them under control. After treatment You need to let them heal naturally and treat with lavender and vitamin e to minimise scarring.
Wow @JustCandy! Nice tip! Does it hurt and how would you know how much to scrape? And yes, they are so annoyingggg….
I have syringoma & have had it since I was a teenager. The only treatment I’ve ever found effective has been having the top of it scraped a lil then having cashew oil placed on top of it. Sounds ridiculous I know but it’s the only thing that has worked for me as when this is done they stay away for quite sometime till they come back atleast around 2 years later. Syringomas a bitch! They will never go away permanently but this procedure which I had done at a dermal clinic is the best option for me as I’ve tried laser, dermabrasion etc with no luck.
Well I guess no one really updates here anymore… I did CO2 Laser Treatment with a pretty renowned derm in Singapore. I have had alot of cluster of syringomas both under and above my eyelids at first when I was 20. It was quite a failure because I couldn’t take the pain without local anesthesia so I did it for the second time and the smaller syringomas disappeared, while the big ones flattened out. It lasted for about a year, and then there were MORE syringomas, and the ones at the top lid grew bigger. So anyway my mum and I thought this was expected so I went to do my third laser treatment but nothing went away even though my derm was thorough with the treatment. Instead, there were more syringomas and now I have dark eye bags and occasionally the area will be swollen. Thankfully though there is no discoloration (I’m Asian) for me. Now, I am 22, and trying to find an alternative, less painful, and a solution that can last longer. Syringomas are so nasty and I am so sick of having people ask me constant questions about it. 🙁
I’ve had syringtomas for some time now. I have done laser surgery on 2, on my stomach! The doc said it wouldn’t leave scars but it has been about 7 months & there are scars for those two! He wrote a prescription for treinton topical cream .1 strength, and I used it for about a month and it’s very itchy and it makes your skin super dry. What it’s suppose to do is shrink the bumps! It made my skin peel and red so I stopped using it. After about 2 months, my skin went back to normal and most of the syringtomas that was there, was some how gone! What it did was make my skin dry, so it peeled the skin which was the bumps & it created a new skin surface. What turned out to be a bad experience ended up working out in the end!
Yeah, I think so too this site is not so active anymore. I, too regret undergoing electrocauter. Too bad my dr. Did it all to my syringomas. Actually all the scabs has just fallen completely two days ago. I have so many like 50+ and now after the procedure they are now much more visible. I totally regret it!! How I wish i didnt get too excited of having them removed at all. I think I just wasted my money time and effort. I look uglier than before 🙁 MINE ARE NOW REDDISH AND MORE BIGGER. Imagine what have I done to my face :((
This site does not seem very active anymore but I promised updates, so here goes. Both my scabs fell off yesterday at different times. The first one did not look so bad. The syringoma looked like it was removed. Where it was looks white and the area around it looks a bit red. When my second scab fell off I was horrified to see that I had an indentation, aka, a shallow hole where the syringomas was. I am so upset right now, I went from have a raised flesh coloured bump to a red crate type hole. I am so glad that I only did two but I would rather have the 2 syringomas back right now. I have been putting vitamin e on the scars, i do not know if it will help. I not sure if these results are normal or not but I do regret what I have done. I go to my derm in about 2 weeks, I cannot image what he will say. I will update as time goes on but I dont think it would be anything positive. 🙁
Hi, I too have Syringoma, my derm told me that the best way to remove is the Carbon Dioxide Laser. But the country where I live does not have anyone using this laser. He did a test on 2 of the bigger ones using the pinpoint electrocauther. The area is red and its a bit swollen but my dr. numb the area and the procedure did not hurt much. He told me to only put witch hazel on the area twice a day and nothing else. I really hope it doesnt scar, I already have a few acne scars on my face, I dont need any more. I only had this done one day ago and I just found this site today. I tried to read all these post. I must say that some treatments and outcomes do vary from post to post. I count about 16 Syringomas between my 2 eyes. All below the eyes. Some are flat and dont bother me at all and some are very small. If these 2 heal without scarring, I will get the rest done. I know they will grow back and I will continue to get more but I dont mind doing this as a maintenance treatment as along as no scarring. I am praying for good results !!! I will update my progress.
I have syringomas too. And i just got it burned 5 days ago through electrocautery its really painful. The scabs are still here but some of them has fallen then I notice that the bumps are still here mighty fine 🙁 it didnt flatten a bit esp the bigger ones.
Its really frustrating to the point that I want to scratch my face hard. I had a big one under my right eyebrow and I scratch it til it remove and until now it didnt come back but i cant do that to other bcoz its under my eyelids and they are too many. I really want them out ppl looked at me like Im som kind of a freak show seeing the scabs under the eyelids. Im so depressed 🙁
I had my Syringoma removal by lazer in my cheeks last March 30, 2013 and its a bit painful. But after the treatment I had scars on my face its just like I had chicken pox. Its a good thing my dermatologist told me to use INFRACYTE to remove the scars and it really works and my syringoma did not come back. I had no worries.
Hey all. I too suffer from under eye syringomas, they are painfully embarrassing. I have a lot under both eyes, and they form in clusters. I have had fraxel done once, with absolutely no results. It was $250.00 for both eyes. Desperately hopeless, I purchased the wart, mole, and skin tag cream and have done two larger ones (mind you this is a scary procedure, you are burning your own skin). The one I did on my right side, seemed to turn out okay. I did it about a month ago.The skin is still red, but I was told by my dermatologist that it could take up to 18 months for a scar to completely heal. The one on my left side I did not even a month ago. I burnt it off when I was sick, I figured I wasn’t working, so if I had a scab it wouldn’t be so embarrassing. Not a good idea. My immune system was on the outs, and it took twice as long for the scab to heal. The scab was pretty bad for about 2 weeks. I was so worried that the burn wasn’t going to heal properly, so I went to the dermatologist to have her look at it. This dermatologist is not my regular dermatologist, so she was pretty much just a fill in until I can see my regular dermatologist on March 20. However, this dermatologist said that it was just a mark, that it looked great, and it would go away. I’m not totally convinced, so I am keeping my appointment on the 20th for an additional opinion. I don’t know if the mark looks worse now because it is smooth, and the skin around it is so bumpy due to the cluster of syringomas. I will find out on the 20th, and if it is safe to keep using the cream, or if I have other options. I just want to get rid of them. I have become severely depressed, and will not leave the house without makeup.
My wife removed her syringoma through needle procedure by an expert doctor (I dont know what is medical term of the procedure)), the procedure was successful but the problem is after 4 days his face was still swollen. Is it normal ? by the way she said that doctor injected her with anesthesia so many times.
So were those syringoma ? did the dermatologist confirm it..? That is quite unusual location (abdomen)
I am an African 26 year old female and have had them since I was around 13. Started on my neck. Now they are all over my chest, arms, abdomen. I am thankful they arent on my face. However, sometimes they do bother me when people ask me about it and refer to it as a “rash.” I tried everything when I was younger – my mother took me to the dermatologist. he tried laser, acne medication, electrocuting them (that was very painful), and there were no results. So i have decided to leave them and try to accept them. They dont bother my boyfriend at all. As long as my kids dont have it, I will be happy. I wish I had a clear beautiful neck like normal women 🙁
Hi everyone,
I have syringoma on my lower lids. I have a lot to say, but a few things will have to suffice for now. I am going to Dermatologist/ plastic surgeon tomorrow and will be asking about fractional CO2 lasers for my syringoma.
A lot of people have written that they have done the laser and that they come back, but no one has said how long are they free of the syringoma before they return. Can anyone give me their experience with the fraction CO2 laser?
One thing I will say for the moment is that I did cauterization of a few styringoma that I had, and it made it CRAZY WORSE! I had very small ones under my left eye, maybe 10 or so, I the ones I had under my right eye where under the skin and looked like little seeds. Once I did the cauterization, it made them come to the surface like pimples and they have multiplied and are coming down my cheeks. I used be able to cover them with Makeup, but not anymore.
If it’s no big deal, don’t take the chance. Do a test area where you have the most syringoma and wait a few months to see what happens.
I will write more next time. My heart and love goes out to you all. It has been very emotional painful for me. Tina C.
Hi, guys. I’m an asian woman, 32 years old, with 3 children. I’ve been having syringoma since teenager, but never had any treatment until after marriage (because they were flat and I can still cover them with make up). Sadly, after getting married, as I often follow my husband working on site (mountains, jungles) because he’s a geologist and I too, like going outbond, the syringoma grow painfully fast. I have done CO2 laser treatment and they grow back, more! I guess we need to do the treatment regularly every a couple of months or so. But with such a high cost, I can’t afford to have it done too often. The doctor told me to keep away from the sun and heat, but in my country -Indonesia-, it’s impossible! I spend a lot of time in the room with Air conditioner, but eventually, I have to get out, like taking the kids to school or simply get down to the market. And the temperature is really HOT outside, I keep sweating and yes, that makes the bumps grow bigger and more! But there’s no way I can hide from the sun here. Even during raining season, every day we still have sun. I’m going to take another laser treatment soon, hopefully this time those bumps will not come back too fast. The doctors and scientists out there should really look into this and invent a real cure for us! It’s a kind of tumor and it should be important! It’s really irritating how the dermatologists put more care on acne than syringoma. I mean, seriously? Acne could come and go, and no matter how bad acne is, people will not look at your face the way they look at you like you when you have syringoma!
If you guys get any improvement after treatment, please kindly let me know. 🙁
Rob, I think the treatment there is an application of 50% TCA Acid that is typically only available to estheticians. I read a study done in South Korea about syrignoma that found they were effectively removed with a combination of CO2 laser followed by the application of 50% TCA acid, so I imagine that 50% TCA acid does work. I did read, though, that this treatment must be applied with precision to avoid affecting the healthy skin around the syrignoma. I have been exfoliating the area twice daily with Dark Angels by Lush and applying salicylic acid and been having good results for evening the texture. I don’t think what I’m doing is a cure, but it has certainly helped reduce visibility when electro-cauterization has failed me.
I forgot I wanted to post a link to an article on eccrine sweat glands, the type that forms syringomas. It explains why so little research has been done on sweat glands, but that might be changing according to this article… Good news for us!

After reading all these posts, I have decided to approach my few syringomas with the following tactics. First consulting a homeopath for the constitutional remedy best for me. Actinomium Crud, Thuja, Calcarea carbonica and others, any one of them could be possibilites, but the right one is not always easy to determine. Next, avoiding using oily skin care products near my eyes. Then hyfrecation for the large ones. I got my first one at age 23, seemingly overnight. I remember because I’d had a stomach flu, and I thought it was from throwing up. I am now 54 and a few more have been springing up under my eyes. I have been using heavy moisturizing products though, and there is some thought that this contributes to them. But really if they are benign tumors, it is happening on a deeper level. That is why I am going to use homeopathy, it treats the whole person/body. In the meantime I have a gentle hyaluronic and coQ10 toner that I am going to apply under my eyes. Thanks for all of your individual research! Best wishes to you all.
Hi Shannon
Just wondered when you had them cut – did they cut out the whole bump? Also did it leave a scar and have those ones returned since?
Hi Tanya
Just to let you know i too have read about the link with these and diabetes. I know someone with both so i think a link is probably likely.
I think a proper study should be done into these to investigate the best form of treatment.
I haven’t seen any reviews yet on the Naturalis Syringoma treatment that some people said they were going to try. If any of you have used it, was it effective for you?
Just curious I have has syringomas for a little over 2 years now and I was just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Does anybody else have both syringomas and diabetes? I head there is a link between the two of them.
Hi All –
WOW, have I found my home here! I have sryingomas, too. I hate them. I am 37 and they seem to be increasing in quantity. My mom has them, too. I started getting them when I was 22. I have 2 sons who are little – I REALLY hope that they don’t inerhit these ugly bumps. I have read that it occurs more freuqently in women than men, so fingers crossed that my sons don’t ever have to deal with this. I went to an occuloplastics surgeon a couple months ago and she literally cut out and then cauterized some of my bumps. This really seems to work! But I have many of them, so it’s impossible to have all of them cut out. I really wish there was a cure or a way to remove them completly. I empathize with everyone in this website forum.
Oh, also chemical peels help, but not sure safe to do more than like once a year bc under eyes r real delicate. I just ordered a TCA peel 15% online-read its suppose to help get them off…ill let u kno if it works(:
I just wear sunglasses everywhere I go in or out, lol I can’t believe no one cares enough to find the cause or cure of this. Even tho it’s not a medical condition, the eyes are the entry to the soul and where everyone looks the most, I always try to look down or away real quick when ppl look me in the eyes while talking,,I think it makes me come across real insecure, which I am only bc of this…I have tried burning them off electrocaurtory or however u spell it, it helped a little, but not good enough, I use retina A-makes them stand out more. Best think for temp fix is sysilic acid 2% face cleaner blackhead removal apricot scrub leave on for 5 min b4 bed every now an then when feel flared or rainy/humid out,,helps shrink a little. And beST is microdermabrasion under eyes, they say they don’t normally do it, but if u go for ur whole face a couple times then ask them to do it on bumps under ur eyes the estheticians are pretty sympathetic and will do it at a lower intensity–but it basically makes ur eyes puff a little like collagen but way better and also flattens them, it’s temporary fix maybe last almost a week if u get a real good sanding,,u virtually can’t even see them for a few days its just pure WONDERFUL, no worries for a few days u feel confident and not ugly eyed…it’s so great. I even worked out a deal she said for 10-15$ she will jUst sand/microderm my eyes (: dEFINATELY TRY THIS ..it works better than anything else, and helps flatten, much cheaper than anything, and makes them disappear for long enough! (It is a little painful but not as bad as anything else for sure…) and no scaring…luv u guys, hang in there, eventually some dr will acknowledge this and fix it…p.s…if u try the microderm under ur eyes -u will c it works great and don’t waste fn money on those stupid surgeries its bs and don’t work (I’m a nurse)…it’s just not worth the $$ the down time or the pain. Only if got completely rid of them which nothing will people. It’s just a scam of uncaring doctors trying to make a frikn huge profit from our suffering. If we stop paying them and falling for it maybe they will get more inspired to find a real treatment that would be worth the pain and money and recovery.,
Hi everyone. I posted earlier in April of 2012. I went through hyfrecator treatment at Celibre in Orange. They didn’t use numbing cream (I asked for it, they told me it isn’t usually necessary) and of course, the treatment was too painful to bear on my bare skin. Couldn’t even zap all the syringomas but managed to get some. It didn’t do much and my syringomas are exactly how they were before. I managed to waste $300 on an ineffective treatment. I’m not giving up, this time going with a CO2 fraxel treatment with some electrocautery (similar to hyfrecator). They will use numbing cream and prescribe pain meds as necessary (these treatments are painful). I will repost in November about the result. So far the only thing that worked is CO2 laser treatment in S. Korea. It didn’t get rid of them but did minimize them and make them less noticeable.
Ohh and all of your stories have touched me in a sense that i now feel at home…
Amazingly, i’m also excited to have found this site. I’ve never met anyone with this situation and it’sbeen strainous for me…
Hello everyone…
My situation is more like Zimo. I’ve got eryptive syringomas and i’ve had them for 6 years too, my family isn’t fortunate enough. I’m 18 years old and for the past years i’m blammed both my parents for these. Still don’t have any self confidence . But just made an appointment with a dermatologist for the 2=th and i hope everything goes well..
I mean these things are flooding my whole body .. I’ve always wanted to show off my clivage and just feel normal . It’s hard for all of us. All my siblings only have them around their eyes, same goes for my parents but as for me, it’s a whole different thing.. Anyways, please wish me good luck.. I’m going to try cauterization
Hello. I came across this site in hopes of finding a home remedy to subdue the Syringomas bumps and redness. I am disappointed there is not one.
I am a 47 yo male that has Syringomas. I have a clustering of them in the pubic area as well on the shaft of my penis. I got them when I was about 10 yo. My mom took me to a doctor. The doctor prescribed cream dispensed in yellow, white and blue tube. I used the cream and nothing happened. No name was given to them that I know of. No pathology extractions that I can recall.
In 1998 I went to a Dermatologist. The Dermatologist extracted samples and sent them to lab. That’s when I given an initial diagnosis of Granuloma. Final lab results stated Syringomas. The doctor did not indicate or prescribe treatment. I wish she did.
Presently I have one spot in my mustache area that flairs and one under my bottom lip that too flairs every now and again when I shave. I have several very very small clusters under my eye which to date have not shown pronouncement. My groin area is loaded with them though. I am very conscious of them and hate them. Recently areas of them have reddened. Maybe the laundry soap, or clothing constrictions perpetuated the flare. I don’t like it a bit.
I am back in the dating scene again. There is a gal I am seeing I hope will be understanding of the Syringomas. I have my Dermatologist’s report to show her plus I will go to the Health Department for STD Testing to show her that as well.
When I was married, it was not an issue for my wife, that I was aware of. I was married to a nurse and I had the reports to show her when we started dating and talked about having sex.
I am very conscious of the Syringomas. I would like to at best subdue them. Gen (comment written July 2 on this blog) wrote she mixed Dalacin-C and Myra-E with a facial cleaner and was pleased with her results. Has anyone else tried this? What about over-the-counter wart remover? Witch Hazel? Hydrogen Peroxide? I read something on another site recommending to stay away from acid products like Vinegar. Of course I read that suggestion after I applied. I used Apple Cider Vinegar. The area is raw. One site talked about using sliced cucumbers, lime juice and fullers earth to remove scars, I wondered if this would work for Syringoma. I am hoping to subdue the area in the next 4 days. Suggestions?
Hi guys, I guess too much cholesterol or fats from chicken is the caused of syringoma under my eyelids and around my eyes. I have worked for a fast food restaurant that offers fried chicken for 2 years and that’s the time where syringoma started to appear around my eyes. I’ve been eating fried chicken almost everyday as it was a free meal offered to the employees of the restaurant. Chicken has bumps on their skin, it seem to look the same with what we have around our eyes. For those who’ve undergone treatments, please keep us posted. Let’s help each other, thanks and be safe always.
It seems we all face a similiar problem, how to remove them and what method. Since many derms or the ones I have seen do not what to touch them because you can end up looking a wreck. I know everybody has different places. Any thoughts from the group.

hi i had my syringoma removed from my upper eyelids last 2010 by co2 laser. it worked well! the areas where they were removed did not produced new ones. i’m chinese by the way. the scars aren’t that obvious too. it’s actually whiter than my regular skin but not really discernible. yesterday i had my second co2 done for syringomas in my lower eyelid.
Hi Judy
Would you say the hyfrecation was better than the laser?
Hi sophi
I think derms usually recommend simple vaseline for healing wounds – they should have given you advice for aftercare. All the best x
Also, I had it done in San Diego at Pacific Dermatology (La Jolla). it works, but they have to numb the skin to really get them good, and that causes temporary swelling around the eyes, but worth it!
sorry, didn’t get notified about other comments. I last posted in April this year. I have to say the hyfrecation seems to have done it. I had it done once and have not needed it since then. Over a year, but I’d do it again if they came back. So far, so good.. Look for a dermatologist. They numb the skin then zap it. It gets a little scab that fall off in a week or so. Don’t pick at it. It seems to burn them below the skin. Not quite sure how it works, but it does work. Yes, if they are large, you can see a flat white spot where they were, but hardly noticeable with makeup. I am very careful now, not to put moisturizer right under my eyes, and I always use a toner after washing my face. Not perfect, but I am happy!
hey guys i just had my syringomas burn off 4 days ago .. i was just wondering if anyone know if its okay to apply fresh aloe vera gel to my lesion , so i heard that aloe vera is great to help heal skin/wounds . hoping that it will excelerate the healing process ..
Hi Jenna
You are really young so I wouldn’t try any surgery until you get older. Ive had this problem since my late teens. I’ve tried laser and electrosurgery which just seemed to flatten it a bit. From what I have read surgery works for some temporarily, but not for others. I don’t think creams will work. This is a sweat gland thing so probably best wear sun cream and avoid sitting out too long when very hot. All the best
Hey everyone,
It’s so surprising (and dissapointing)to see so many of us suffering from this condition with no satisfactory results! I am 26 years old and I’ve had syringomas on my upper lids and much smaller ones on lower lids since I was about 14, although it was only diagnosed as syrongomas last year. I did electro cauterization last year and paid about $250. The bumps slightly reduced, but had to go in for a repeat treatment after a few weeks (only paid for consultation but not treatment). Still, they bumps were visible even though slightly smaller, and they still made me self concsious when very close to people. Two days ago, I went in to see my dermatologist and he suggested I do the treatment again (this time I had to pay again)! I am still waiting for the scabs to fall off and will know the results after a week.
I just wanted to share this in case you were thinking of the same procedure. I am starting to realise that there are no easy solutions to this problem and it is heartbreaking to think that I might have them for life. The bumps are not that huge, but bad enough to make me self conscious when up close, especially in hot weather when they are even more pronounced! I will keep reading to see what other alternatives I can try!
also rehan please tell me if the naturlis product works and how much it cost
sadly im 13 and had this for like 5 years please tell me how to get rid of it im scared to do the laser thingy help :((((((
I think that should be all trying to get money to go to korea to do the carbondioxide laser or erbium laser
I develop syringoma at age 15,i am 29 now,its really embarrasing,i hav used mole wart varnish by priston herbal touch it burnt my face nd 6mnths later they r back ndd worse all over my both eyelids, got it from my grandmum, out of eight siblings i only haave it,really need help,i am a nigerian,so black, trying to use naturalis product now.
Hi guys! im new one here….. i have a syringoma too, its start since when i was 10 years old. now im 31. i hate this bump too… i never undergo to operation coz i know it will come back, i just let them but it will slowly getting bigger, and i think when im stress it will slightly getting bigger.. but now i use facial cleanser and i add a dalacin-c and myra-e… i mix it together, i think for me its really work. not completely dissappear but it can help to not getting bigger.i start using this 1 month ago but i have a good result…
Hi
I had my syringoma removed in 2001 with a dermatologist using CO2 laser. I had LA injections and they were zapped away. Took about a week for scabs to completely fall off. the bumps returned like what the dermatologist said. I just had another session Teo days ago using electro surgery. Not one drop of blood but the numbing cream wasn’t effective and the “pen” that was cutting away the bumps were painful. I paid around $500 Singapore dollars. Considering they lasted a good ten years, it was worth it. I’m just waiting to see what the results will be upon total healing.
Hi everybody ,
Well I am a female I live in Los angelease California and iv had syringomas since I was 12 I am now 24 , I recently got mine burned with a cauterize needle. Very painful procedure, well this was my first time visiting a dermatologist . So as of right now I’m in the healing process don’t know what it’s going to look like after it completely heals but I’m hoping for good results. I just don’t want them to ever come back. Btw I went to a dermotologist in Beverly hills so it’s a great dermotologist with 30 years of experience .i just wanna know how will it look after the scabbing falls off . Today is my fourth day of the healing process.
Hi LJ,
Thansk for the tips. Just wondering do you use any soap when you wash your eyelid or just water? I got mine removed last eyar adn of course now they are all back. So basically wash it just like washing your face?
Thanks!
Hey everyone i am a male 25 years old and i have has syringoma since i was 20. I am in south korea now and this friday i am getting my CO2 laser surgery. They speak in oorean and basically i didnt understand much but hey told me that there is a chance of resurfacing after the surgery but chances of complications are very low and if they resurface the chances of getting more bumps back after the surgery are low but still a low possibility. So im getting the surgery not to remove them completely but to make them less visible. For some reason i realized that my eyelids get very oil and i have oily skin. I started washing my eyelids below the eye after the syringomas started becoming more visible. After that the growth was reduced. Maybe it has to do something with coeanliness. I wash 2 or 3 times a day, and now only my left eye has visible syringoma. The right eye has the bumps but very very few. I am going to try keeping the left eye clean throughout a year after the surgery. I will try to keep my posts here to see how the resurfacing goes. I think cleanliness, very throriugh cleanliness over the area might help but not sure. Btw i am a Korean who lived abroad so my skin is way darker than a regular korean.
Hi, Guys. I do feel your pain. My syringoma started to appear more in my 20’s. I went to the dermatologist about 3 times and she used this electric needle to burn it off. She then scrapped it off. Then I had to use ointment to maintain the moisture of the treatment. She told me to avoid sunlight and just rest. It looked great and I felt very confident in my skin. After a year or so they came back. My first treatment was at age 17. It was roughly about 250$+ depending how much you have I guess. I have more under my left eye but a few on my right. Another thing… I have it all over my upper chest and both of my inner thighs and the sides of my butt. This is Definetely a self esteem killer and I feel like I have to cover up this ugly skin of mine. Also, my mother seems to have it under her eyes and I feel like my father has them over his body except his eyes. I wonder if it’s hereditary… Can anyone recommend anything for me please
Hello Everyone,
I had mine removed last May 2011. Of course, got the same result and it came back right after 6 months. For me it does not have to be gone completely because I feel that would never happen; all I need is less visibility of it. Do you guys recommend anything like home remedy wise?
Thank You so much!
My syringoma does not change ever. I have a few bumps under my eyes, and they have been exactly the same for years. I always look at them because I hate them and know for a fact they are exactly the same as they were 10 years ago. I am 39 and started noticing these about 12 years ago. I hate it, hate it, hate it. My aunt has them too, but no one else in the family that I know of. I want them OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi judy
Thanks for your post – it has given me a bit of hope.Just curious as to where you got yours treated. Also is the hyrecator – the burning method? Also would you say treatment is required every 6 -12 months for a noticable improvement? Sorry – lots of questions!
It sure helps to read all of these posts. I’ve had these for over 10 years, and I had Yag laser drilling in November. They did improve a lot, then came back a bit, so I went for hyfrecation. They are much improved, so if I compare now to previous, I’d have to say it’s much, much better. I’m going to get them re-hyfrecated again in about a week. I think someone who didn’t know I had them would really have to look to see them, you know? I don’t get it, no one else in my family seems to have these but me.
Hi Princess,
I’ve seen the same product (Naturalis) online but because of the price, I’m hesistant about purchasing it. I’ve done CO2 laser about 8years ago and like Ang, they started reappearing 6 months after the treatment. I stopped treatments after a while as I didn’t want ot further damage my skin with all these invasive treatments.
While I’ve been working hard to embrace them, it’d be fantastic to get rid of them. I’ll be checking up on hyfrecator and see if it’s available in Singapore. So great to see all your comments, makes me feel less lonely as I’m the only 1 I know who has it.
Hi shannon, just wondering did your syringomas get worse while pregnant? Or after having your baby?
Hi guys, i might try that hyfrecator treatment ,i hope it works ;(.im getting so frustrated with this syringoma under my eyes;( i had the cautery treatment 5 yrs ago but still it came back after 2 years … as i was doing a research I’ve found this Naturalis Products – Syringoma treatment … its claiming that it can cure syringoma, kindly google it and read its details, im not sure how i know if that really works for good …..i was so pleased reading the thread with this topic, very helpful. thanks guys x

Hi Sunshine,
Thanks for the tip. Do you only use foundation or concealer too? I use Sheer cover mineral foundation and concealer, but my concealer settles on the lines that this condition produces. But I love my foundation.I do the same thing you do I try to play my eyes with eyeliner and mascara.
Hello all,
I am 42yrs old and have had syringomas since I was in my early 20’s. It has gotten worse in the sense that they are more raised and more prominent than before but being the age that I am and the fact that my husband doesn’t see “them” when he looks at me but sees ME, his wife of 17yrs. and Mother of his 2 sweet boys, I haven’t had any inclination to have surgery. Now, I have to be honest and say that although it doesn’t bother him, it bothers me, especially if I am not wearing any make-up or if I am in close proximity to people (I am all day long). I think that they’ll stare and maybe ask what “those” bumps are or think I have some kind of skin problem. Either way, who likes to be stared at? I solve the problem by wearing a great foundation, in my case, Shiseido. I don’t have to cake it on to hide the bumps (very little) but it does help greatly in evening out my skin tone as the bumps are ivoryish and my natural skin tone is tannish in color. I have dark hair and dark eyes, therefore I can play up my eyes with eyeliner and mascara hence bringing attention to my eyes and not the bumps under and around my eyes. This works for me and makes me feel more confident when facing the public. If anyone has another solution in “remedying” this problem we unfortunately have, please let me know. I’m all ears, or shall I say all eyes =-)
Hi ladies,
I have been doing a lot of research lately and have read a lot about syringoma being linked to hormones. Does anyone notice that their’s get worse or change a little before or after menstruation? I have noticed that sometimes they tend to get bigger during my period and afterwards they fade again.
Sorry for the double post, technical difficulties…
Hi Ang,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I takes about 7 days to heal then the spots remain red for a while and swolen for a while depending on their size. They have not come back even the ones I did 17 years ago although in some people they come back pretty quick. This manifest very different on everybody. The lightning of the skin is there and you can see the shape of the flat bump. Yes, make up helps but does not covers completely.
Did you had a complete eye resurfacing (meaning they did the laser under all your eye) or was it laser spot treatment? I have some doctors tell me to do a complete eye resurfacing and another tall me he will only do spot treatment with the laser. But I am very afraid to look worst and to only know that is temporarily.
I wish you the best of luck with your treatment and please let us know your outcome. Best of luck and thanks!!
Hi Ang,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Where I had the hyfrecator done I have been very blessed that they have not come back, even the two I had done 17 years ago. Although I have heard that in some people they come back pretty quick. It took about 7 days for the scabs to fall but the spots stay red for a while and one thing you have to make sure is not to take sun for at least a month because the spots can turn dark and will take a while to fade. I dont have any regrets with the hyfrecator the only thing is the lighter skin and that you can see the shape of the bump that is now flat, and one of them that was kind of big is not completely flat. One thing is that although make up helps it does not covers completely.I dont want to sound discouraging but I want you to be aware of everything. One more thing is that not every doctor is completely experience with the hyfrecator, so do some research before doing anything.Im sorry to ask you again but did you had a complete eye lid resurfacing (meaning that they did the laser under your all eye) or spot treatment with the laser? Some doctors have recommended a complete resurfacing but with the Erbium laser and some have told me only spot treatment laser.
Thank you so much for your feedback.I wish you the best with your treatment and please let us know the outcome of your treatment. Best of luck and thanks!!
Ksilva,
Thank you for your reply. I underwent the C02 treatment without hearing about risks of hyperpigmentation and fortunately, I didn’t experience any lightening or darkening of the skin(I’m Asian). I had scars for about 3-4 days, which turned to scabs and in about a week it was healed. The bumps were still there but they did decrease in size. The smaller ones disappeared completely. I still had syringomas under my eyes but it looked a lot better overall.
Results didn’t last long. In about 6 months it came back and now, 2 years later, they’re starting to bother me again. However I did notice one side improved and didn’t grow back as bad. The dermatologist who did the procedure told me I should undergo 2-3 treatments ideally but I couldn’t continue for obvious reasons– C02 is too expensive in the states.
I have fairly even skin tone so I’m hoping hyfrecator will work. I just made an appointment to do the procedure next week. I will repost the results. I hate these bumps so much I think I’d rather have some lighter spots than bumps. At least I can cover the lighter spots with make-up while these bumps are impossible to hide.
So overall, would you say hyfrecator was successful in removing the bumps? Did you have scars or was the lightening of the skin the only problem? How long did it take to heal?
Hi Ang,
Thank you for sharing your story. You are one of the few that I have heard the Co2 laser has worked. If you dont mind me asking, I have done so much research, and I have gone to many dermatologist, but I am very afraid of doing the laser because of hyperpigmentation. I have fair olive skin and they always say that asian, olive, and dark skin types are at a very high risk of having hyperpigmentation. Did you had what they call a lower eye lid resurfacing or just spot treatment with the laser? And did you had problems with hyperpigmentation( darkening of the area)? And how long until your skin was back to normal? I have had the hyfrector done in some of them but since I have dark circles the skin where I had the hyfrecator done is lighter and with the dark circles the light areas it shows even more. The bumps in those areas are gone but I have white spots which I dont know what is worst, bumps or white spots. Thanks for your feedback!
Like many of you, I’ve struggled with syringoma since age 15 or 16. Now I’m 31 with syringomas on both sides of eyelids and under the eye. I’ve seen many dermatologists over the years and they all tell me that there is nothing they can do to get rid of them completely. I’ve accepted this now but still want to make them appear smaller and less noticeable.
I’ve had CO2 laser treatment done almost two years ago and results were satisfactory. The bumps were a lot smaller and less noticeable but now, 2 years later, it is back to how it was before. I got this procedure done in South Korea where beauty procedures (including plastic surgery) is so much more advanced and affordable. I paid $500 US dollars for the entire treatment and would go through it again in a heartbeat but it is too expensive here in the states. I live in LA btw. I don’t know how I can spend thousands of dollars on laser treatments that are not permanent. FYI, CO2 laser is the most widely used treatment for syringomas in S. Korea.
I went to a consultation in to Celibre in Orange today. http://www.celibre.com/syringoma-treatment.aspx
They offer hyfrecator at $250 for 20-40 lesions per session. It can take 2-3 sessions of even more if they don’t disappear. I’m debating whether I should try this method or just go for another expensive C02 laser treatment. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Hi people
I’m suffering more and more, I have an generalised eruptive syringoma, and now its growing on all my body, and I have many of theme on my butt and they are a little painy.
I’m not very certain, but I doubt that a food is causing their appearance, because 1/2 h after eating I have many pruriginous and red spots and some of theme become syringoma, please help me, I don”t know what to do ! What are the foods that can make the syringoma worse ? Olive maybe, or milk, tomatoes, orange and lime ?
Hi shannon
You are a similar age to me and seem to have had a similar experience. I also noticed this condition seems to have a hereditary basis. If its any consolation I think boys are less likely to develop it. Could you let me know what treatment you decide to have? Also did your mum have the carbon laser and did it get rid of them completely for 2 years?
Hi Everyone –
I have had tiny tiny syringomas since I was about 20. They never really bothered me until earlier this April when I started gettting more, and larger ones, under my eyes. I am 36. My mom has them really bad and she had to have laser ablation. Hers came back a few years later, but the original treatment seemed to work for a while for her. I am now pregnant with our second son and I just hope and pray that I do not pass this ugly hereditaty trait onto them! It’s a self esteem killer for a woman or a man who has this. I am planning to go to my derm after my son is born for a consult and (hopefully) treatment. The bumps in my 20s were flat and you could not feel them. But now I have about 20 raised bumps that I can feel with my finger. Anyway, this condition sucks and I also cannot believe that no doctor has developed a way to completely remove them. They would make a MINT if they had! Thanks for reading this!
hi everyone. First off, I am very sorry to hear about all the suffering all of you guys are going through. I first started to get syringoma around two years ago. I have been doing a lot of research and have found that they get worse when I eat foods that are highly inflammatory (i.e. Foods high in sugar, white bread/rice). I have experimented eating different foods and when ever I eat a lot of highly inflammatory food my syringoma grow noticeably bigger. I know that everyone is different, but I just wanted to share with you guys just in case your syringomas are linked to inflammation like mine.
Hi zimo, when I first started developing these bumps I read a lot about syringomas and I remember reading that the weather plays a big part and warm weather could make them worse! But it is now winter here in england and I have seen absolutely no difference in these bumps at all, and if anything I have noticed that they have got a bit worse, so I’m now questioning whether the weather has anything to do with the occcurance. I also think maybe it is something that we are eating that may be causing them, a friend of mine who also has syringomas says she noticed them getting worse when she ate dairy products and she noticed them getting a bit better when she completely cut dairy out of her diet? So I’m trying not to eat anything with dairy in, its just so hard as you will be suprised how much food has dairy in! Do you think anything else may be causing these?
Katie…I’ve used retin A and No it does not work. Nothing like that will work for this unfortunately.
Hey people I suffer from Generalised Syringoma since 6 years, and I’m depressed, nothing worked, I’m a medicine student and I read that the syringoma may not be a true tumor but a inflamatory response to a thing but that thing isn’t clear.
So I’m doing researches, My syringomas papuls begins like acne, a small spot with red circle around, then they clear a bit, and remain a small brown papul, I have many on my neck, thorax, back, I’m very sad about it.
I think that a food can be the cause, I noticed that when I eat some types of food, I have then syringoma eruptions :
my suspicions turns around : Milk and tomtoes for now, please reply to this I need advices
Hi, I was just wondering if anybody has used retin A , I no this will never get rid of the syringomas I already have but I have heard it can give some control and maybe stop any new ones from forming? Let me know your thoughts!
Hi. I am sorry to hear that you are all struggling with syrignoma. I think I might have a very mild case of it as well. I just turned 19 and I recently started noticing tiny bumps around my eye area. Only two of these bumps really stick out but I don’t think anybody else notices them except me. My syrignoma is not a problem yet but I am really afraid that these bumps are going to get bigger and multiply. I am going to make an appointment with a dermatologist but I was wondering if anyone has a way to control their syrignoma to keep it from getting worse.
Hi shy
I would make a decision based on the outcome of the first treatment. I have heard that some of these spots need to be treated several times before you see a result.
Hello everybody my name is shy from philippines but at the moment im staying now in netherland and yeah unfortunately i have the same problem as u guys, i have it in my cheeks en also in my neck.. I have this syringoma since i was 13 and i notice it’s getting worse en disturbing so i went to a dermatologist last 3 weeks ago en she took one piece on it at my neck for laboratory reason, last monday my dermatologist confirmed that this is syringoma en she let me try the electric thing with metal on the tip en burned few pieces on my eyelid en neck.. Omg it’s really painful. My derma asked me to come back after 1 month, if the electro thing work for me she will do the rest.. Guys give me an advice what is the best procedure to get rid of this syringoma!! Im so so frustrated..thanks en gudluck to all of us..
Shy
Hey everyone!
I have had syringomas under my eyes for as long as I can remember. I am 26 years old and I am starting to get desperate to get rid of these. I can see them gradually getting bigger and spreading. After all the research I have done, I came across this lady in Arizona that says she gets rid of them. I saw this video she posted of a procedure of before and after and it seems very promising. I called her on the phone and spoke to her for a little bit and she said there is a chance of scarring but almost all the people she has done have no scarring.
Since it is my eyes and my face I am extremely scared of scarring because whats the point in getting rid of these bumps if its only going to look worse?? A lot of people tell me they cant even notice them unless i mention it but I notice them every time i look in the mirror and I hate it.
I am deeply considering doing this procedure with her next month but I would love if you could take a look at the video and give me your opinion!! Should I do it or not!? thank uu!!
Hi teddy
just wondered – do the scars look worse than the syringoma? I think a few people on here have had success with electric needle and laser but unfortunatly it seems that in most cases the results are disappointing and temporary.
Hi Teddy,
Im from the US and in my late 30s. I had the white scars since I was 20, However I have the white scars, more bumps under my eyes and dark circles. Believe me I know how difficult it is because I have to live with it everyday. Unfortunately, we do not have another choice but to accept it, live with it, and pray that science will come up with a treatment that can work for us. I try to keep myself busy, and I always try to remember that there are far worst things that other people have to deal with on a daily basis.
As far as the dark circles if there was a cure there would not be so many people with dark circles, that is what every doctor tells me.
We can’t give up, because 20 years ago laser was not as advance as it is know, so i am hoping that one of this days they will come up with something to help us.
Best of luck to you!!
ksilva,
where are u from? what do you do about it in everyday life? can’t have a long eye contact to people because i always think about does spots under my eyes. =(
how about the treatments for eyebags on salons, they say it kinda lessen the dark circles. by the way, im just 20 yrs old
Teddy,
I have the same problem you have, I had electrocauthery done on some of them and the white scars is the result of the normal pigmentation of the skin. So far every doctor tells me there is nothing out there for dark circles.
i mean i have white flat dot SCARS under my eyes resulting from electrocautery of my syringomas.
do anyone of you have the same condition as mine? is there any treatments for dark circles under the eyes to lessen so that the scars won’t be that visible
anymore updates, great news, anyone =)
I am 23 yrs old from the Philippines and I have syringoma eversince i can remember. For almost two years, i undergo microdermabrasion or diamond peel on my face. Since then, I noticed that my countless syringomas on the forehead have diminished. They are barely unnoticeable. Since diamond peel cannot be performed around the eye, my derma suggested to undergo electrocautery or laser cautery. Laser cautery is twice the cost of electrocautery. But render the same results i guess?
Btw, my syringomas are more visible when the weather is hot and they turn reddish in color. Maybe because they are sweat ducts?
Hi teddy
White dots maybe milia or syringoma. Milia can be easily popped with a needle.
Why don’t you ask the derm who did your cautery to have a look at it?
do anyone of you had electrocautery treatment for syringoma?
i had it done and i now have tiny white spots under my eyes. it is kinda visible because i’m asian(dark circle under my eyes).
it got me so frustrated to the point that i don’t want to go out anymore and i really have a hard time making eye contact resulting for massive no self-confidence at all. i miss my social life. HELP!
HI everyone,
Say sorry for that first comment.
I am Michelle Villanueva from Pampanga, Phil. I have the same issue I am having syringoma under my eyelid since when I am 13 years old & now I am 21 Years of age. Please gve me a word of advice if what is the best treatment for this. Honestly since b4 I feel so hopeless & afraid to do something if which treatment can help me to solved this kind of problem.
Hoping, for those who are having this issue can find the best solution in the future.
Thanks a lot & best wishes to all of you.
May God be with us & successful treatment for us.
Hi , I was just thinkin.. This may sound a little stupid, but when people sweat excessively under the arms they can get botox, which relaxes the muscles and stops you from sweating! I though since syringomas are due to sweat glands maybe if you had botox under the eye it may help syringomas! What are everyones thoughts?
Amanda,
Hi, for what I have read humidity can aggravate the situation, and it makes sense since this is related to the sweat glands. I would like to know if the last session of Erbium Laser worked for you. Did you had a complete laser resurfacing or just spot treatment? And has your skin gone back to your original color? I have visited numerous dermatologist and I dont know what to do because of my skin type. I have light olive skin. Are you fair skin? Just wondering because for what I know the laser is more suitable for fair skin.
Laura,
I can relate to you because in my case some bumps are prominent sometimes and then they flatten out. However, I have some that are always there and they keep getting wider. I wonder if those that come and go are syringomas since syringomas are persistent.
This is a condition that unfortunately no doctor can say with certainty this is the cause. And everything you read about it is pretty much the same thing. No one knows for sure. One of my doctors told me that pregnancy can make them worst. I have also read that it can be related to hormones. One thing that every doctor says it is genetic and we cannot run from it. Very frustating.. Best of luck to everyone!!
Hi rex, are you sure that they were syringoma, or could they have been milia instead? As I heard that milia are fairly easy to remove, syringomas however seem to be a bit more stubborn ?
I’ve had syringoma for 2+ years and I noticed that some of mine come and go. I don’t know what makes some of them go away. Does this happen to anyone else? If so, what do you think makes it better sleep, avoiding certain things (i.e. Foods, heat)?? I want to get treatment done but some of them getting better on there own and I was just wondering how this happens! Thank you anyone who answers.
Hi I’m 22 and I noticed my syringomas come up pretty much all at once after 8 hours at the beach, I actually didnt have noticeable syringomas before that. Ive had two sessions of fine wire diathermy which left pretty blue/purple pigmentation for a few months. The syringomas however didnt flatten at all unfortunately. Then i had two sessions of erbium laser (not so aggressive) without any effects. I’ve finally found a new place that treats syringomas more agressively and have just had my second treatment there with erbium laser. It was pretty intense the area bled on and off for 48 hours but they’ve done a pretty good job so far and it’s looking a lot less bumpy.
Hi Rex Was it definitely syringoma you had treated? Also did you get any small scars from treatment?
Hello everyone. I tried the electrocautery and it seemed to work. I had it more than a year and the bumps did not recur. The problem though was, my derma did not quite remove everything so I still have small ones but not much noticeable.
Dawn,
Wow in the UK, I guess you would think everyone is from the same place, in my case US. I think it all depends how experience the doctor is with the hyfrecator, and that is a little bit difficult to know. Like I said that first doctor was pretty aggressive and for a while it wasnt that bad, but now that I have dark circles is noticeable. My new doctor that burned the last few it is very good as far as being conservative. Like I said the tiny, and by tiny I mean tiny are not a problem, but the one that was bigger you can see exactly the shape and the lighter skin on that area. Which at that moment I decided not to continue burning the bigger ones because I dont know what its worst a lighter, flatter, noticeable bump, or a bump that still the same color of my skin. For what I heard from the last doctor I consulted is that laser spot treatment is less aggressive than the electrocauteritation, but I would not now for sure since I have not done that. And he said it would be flatter and that he could not make it dissappear. I guess I have been lucky in the sense that the ones I have burned have not come back because for what I have heard in some people they grow back within months. As far as if the scar is bad you can see it, so far I have not found a concealer that will cover it completely, the one I found to be pretty good is from the line Sheer Cover is mineral base. If you google it, you will find it, if you are interested because the concealers you can buy around do not work for our condition, at least that is my experience.
Hi Ksilva
Interesting that your electrocautery worked in the first instance. Would you say the scar/ discolour is bad? I agree I think ageing helps as I reckon wrinkles etc would make condition less obvious. Unfortunately my skin is pretty good for my age. I guess you could always set up a support network? There are charities that support people with various conditions etc and offer counselling. You are totally right doctors don’t take it very seriously. I’m in u.k – so a bit far to travel for a chat lol! Although would be cool if we could all meet up. But if you want to give me your email I will let you know of anything I find out that helps.
Hi Dawn,
I have had the electrocautery done only once on the spots. i have had 5 burned throughout my life. Two when I was 20 and they did not reoccur, however, now they are popping out around, and they are not big they are actually kind of flat but you can see the skin is not smooth. For me since I am in my late 30’s I guess that aging it is helping me a little since I do not have the tigh skin that young people have. Ja! Never thought I would say that… But the doctor who did those two was very aggressive and I have discoloration on that area (lightening). But that is what I am afraid of, to have them burned and then reoccur again, how is that gonna look. I have notice that if they are really tiny is not a problem and is hardly noticeable, but for the bigger ones i am afraid. The only thing that upsets me is that the doctors do not seem to care, they just say it is genetics and we have to learn to live with it. Easy to say, when you are not suffering from it. I have even research to see if there is a support group for this condition, but could not find any. I think there should be one since I believe there are many suffering from this. Texas.. Where are you from?
Hi ksilva
You sound just like me! I got mine late teens and since my 30’s they have got worse. Over the last 3 months I have thought of little else. My family also say they don’t notice. But I think they are very prominent! I actually asked someone at what distance they could see it and they said about a metre, which I think is probably accurate.
Like you I was surprised to read that you sometimes get more as mine had stayed the same for so long and i’m not sure i needed to know that since there is not really a good treatment. It just made me panic. But I guess it’s comforting to know Im not the only person with this. There are similar conditions which are also hard to treat recur and spread – it’s not the only one.
Just a few questions when you had cautery did you have it in the same place several times? From the case studies I have looked at they seem to do treatments several times. Isn’t it strange that they appear to be successful yet only one person on here has had success?
P.s Where is everyone from?
Katie also if this is bothering you too much find support with your family and someone to talk to. It always help..
katie,
I know how frustating this can be. And yes my family says that they do not look they I feel they do. Even the doctors I have seen said the same thing. However, I do not worry about now I worry about the future since I know they keep spreading. Now I have to say that this condition manifest very different on everyone. I have seen 3 more people up close with this condition and they all look very different, and unfortunate they were all around my age, also since I didnt know them well I could not ask them anything. As with everything mine started very tiny, hardly noticeable, and only 5 on one eye right wwhere the lower eyelid and the cheek meets. And only 2 on the other eye. That was at age 15. Over the years I saw them getting wider and also mine are kind of flat instead of dome shape. That did not bother TOO MUCH, I have always been very aware of them but like I said didnt bother me too much. The doctors told me it could get worse but at time there wasnt computers and internet like now and I never paid attention until 2 years ago. I should have never look at the pictures on the internet because I think that it can disturbe your mind a little. And like I said everyone is different. Two years ago I started seeing them spreading, but the problem with this is that they clumped together making a wider bump. I know!! I have tried the electric needle on some of the tiny ones that I have gotten new and it has work out, however I tried it on a big one that I had and while it is flatter it is still there. What I know is that the flatter they make it the more discoloration will happen (lighter area). If darkening occurs it is temporarily according to the doctors, but the lightening of the skin is is almost permanent as I know. The last doctor I saw told me he does spot laser treatment to maintain them flatter, Honestly, I dont know what to do because I dont want to look worst. For what I have seen it also depends on the type of skin people have and the kind of syringoma. Sometimes the syringomas are kind of white and on a person with dark skin it will be more noticeable as I have seen in the past. A person with fair skin it is less noticeable regardless. I have light olive skin, and mine are pretty much the same color of my skin. Hope this help a little and think that there are worst things outhere. Keep your head up high because we have to live our lives, and keep your life busy I find that helps..
Hi ksilva! I was just wondering, when you say your syringoma has got worse in the last 3 years? Do you mean they have got worse as in size or do you mean they have spread , multiply etc? Also you say your family say they arnt as bad as you make them out to be, my family aslo says the same to me! Which I find even more frustrating as I think they are just saying that to spare my feelings! But if I could as without sounding round! How big r your syringoma .. Roughly? Any feedback would be great
Hi,
By the way guys, a word of advice. Do not pick at the bumps. I made the mistake when I was younger and they grew back BIGGER.
Hi Coki,
I hope you don’t mind my question? I first got mind when I was 15 but only a few and very minimal.Hardly noticeable. I guess I have been lucky that they did not started getting bad until I was 36 and still my family says it is not what I think it is. I have never met anyone who have had it for a long time. I know they keep spreading but my question is if they grow in size up, meaning bulge up?
Dawn,
I am married and this has been very difficult for me in the past 3 years, but just me personally. I guess I am very fortunate to have a very supportive husband that has always told me he loves for who I am, not for what I have or how I look. It is very comforting, but it doesn’t take away the way I feel. I try to be possitive everyday and make the best of it.
I also just went to see a new dermatologist that i found doing some research. He wrote a paper on the Erbium laser and there was a part for syringomas. Unfortunately, he told me the same thing. He can make them flatter but not dissappear, and that I would always have them. By the way I have seen a share of dermatologist and none I mean none have touch my face or even look at it close, and this doctor actually put some magnifying glasses and took the time to look examine my eyes. He has been using the laser for many many years and he is also very mature with a lot of experience. One thing he told me is that he would not do a complete laser resurfacing, only spot treatments. After doing intense research and seing many dermatologist, which some of them wanted to go ahead and do a complete lower eyelid laser resufacing I was very afraid of the after look since the laser resurfacing tightens the skin. And for what I have seen of the before and after pictures, people who did not have visible bumps they do after and they dont suffer from this condition. I feel at peace now that I decided not to do the complete laser resurfacing.
hi everyone, I’am Vhiolz and me too have same issue I have a lots of syringoma. I’am so frustrated about it, every time I’m looking at the mirror it makes me feel so bad & hopeless.. Please help me guys, I’am 30 years old by the way. And base on my observation my syringoma started I think a year ago… it’s located on my upper cheeks & lower eyelid.. please give me some advise how to get rid of it…
thank you:-)
Hi mary, yes you can contact me on this email address.. cripuafrocripuafro@hotmail.comm.uk">Mandy59cripuafrocripuafro@hotmail.comm.uk and thank u dawn for your reply! I am considering trying th electric needle, I’m just worried the result will end up being worse then the actual problem, for example scarring or pigmentation ect
Hi corki
Sorry bit personal – just wondered about your husbands reaction to the condition. Is he supportive etc?
P.s what co2 did you have? was it the pulsed one
Hey Katie,
Do you have an e-mail address or another way I can contact you? Thanks!
Hi there fellow “syringomians”LOL just a little humor…we need it!
We are all victims of these bumps, they are ugly, we hate them with a passion and we all want to get rid of them!! Looking at the positive side though, at least they are not dangerous to our health…it could be worse.
I started getting these bumps at age 26-27 just before I got married. Now I’m 52 and have had multiple treatments. The very first dermatologist that I went to back in 1985 or so, told me that they were warts and he tried burning them with nitrogen…..I think that this made them worst. I had a CO2 laser procedure about 10 years ago with mixed results. Some syringoma came back so I went back and had more laser surgery, again with mixed results. I also tried a product made by a Philippino Doctor that won several awards, can’t remember the name but it is something like herbal touch de-syringoma. I tried it on one large siryngoma underneath my left eye. You have to scratch the bump with a toothpick that they provide until it bleeds, then you apply the cream. It burns like hell but guess what, it worked. It left me a little scar that has pretty much disapeared by now.
Mickae, if you read this thread, please try to find the product in the Philippines. If you find it, please e-mail me (cokidoflagstoneveneydel2q9+286pf6sbn72t@gmail.com) and let me know cause I would like to buy some more. It works but you have to be EXTREMLY careful when you use it as it can leave you scars.
Now I’m getting them on my forehead and are multiplying like the plague, it is horrible!!
Please keep posting your experiences, you never know, together we may find something that works.
Good luck and best wishes.
Coki
Hi katie
I have tried the electric needle and laser and whilst it made them a bit flatter – it didn’t remove them at all. If you want to try one I suggest the electric needle as it’s cheaper and recovery time quicker. I have heard that even if they are surgically removed – or you have Blephoplasty it will still recur after several years. I find looking after general health e.g – sleep, drinking water helps with appearance. If you feel depressed it is important to speak to someone. Also whilst it is frustrating it is obvious that there are lots of others with this problem by the number of posts here!
Hi, I’m 20 and I have the same problem, I noticed the bumps occuring about 7 months ago, and I have seen 3 derms in that time with absolutely no help, I was told that it could be worse and I will have to live with it, unless I go privately to get them removed! But after seeing everyones comments online I am now reconsidering my options, as I would not want to spend a lot of money at a private clinic, and have no results! I have actually gone into depression because of this! I do not understand how doctors can cure cancer but have no way of getting rid of syringoma! I feel it is a disease that isn’t taking seriously enough! A little bit of advice though, I put warm water on a bit of tissue every night and press on the bumps for about half an hour, and the next day they do seem to look a bit better!
Hey Mickae,
The healing process depends on your skin type. I have sensitive skin so it took a while for my skin to recover. If your skin isn’t too sensitive, I would say to try it out, you could be one of those lucky people that heal quickly and won’t have them reoccur for a while. I will pray that the procedure works for you and that your skin has a quick recovery! Believe me I know how frustrating this skin problem is, keep your head up we will find a way to get rid of them 🙂
hey TARA!
i’m mickae, 20. i’m also suffering with syringoma.. have thses since like i was 14 years old. i’m very desperate to have it removed, since it’s very prominent and i’m ashamed with my face because of it. well, i was planning to have it removed this september.. i’m currently working, and i requested to have a week-off work at least after the treatment.. but after reading your posts, i’m having second thoughts. i’m scared that it redenned or will discolor and not heal for about a week. i can’t afford to be absent at work because i need money. but at the same time, i’d want to really have all these removed… ASAP.
i’m a filipino by the way, from cebu.
please help me guys. enlighten me! i’m so frustrated!
I have had recurrent syringomas over the past 15 years. In 2002 I had the surgical excision to try and remove. This was a very unpleasant procedure, which left small craters under both eyes for years! The syringomas have returned with a vengence, and I am now considering another option. My Dermatologist told me to stay out of the sun because it is a major contributor to the problem.I would like to get rid of these things, but apparently they just keep coming back? Perhaps the laser treatment may be a better option.
Hi Dawn,
I would not recommend laser if your syringom grow at a fast rate like mine, or if your skin is sensitive. I had hyperpigmentation for a while!
Hi Tara
Sorry I missed the post that you’d had co2 – would you not recommend this treatment?
Just a few questions – if anyone can answer
Are electrocautery and hyrecating the same thing?
Does make up worsen this condition?
Has anyone tried co2 laser?
I’m not sure if I mentioned it before but I am 24. I started getting acne and syringoma these past couple of months. I agree the warm weather probably makes it worse! Good luck everyone getting treatment I wish you the best of luck! 🙂
Same here! I wonder if it has something to do with warm weather. Maybe they will settle down later in the year. Exploring treatment options so will keep you guys posted.
P.s how old is everyone out of interest?
Kim,
Yeah I know what you mean I feel so hopeless. I felt like the first time I did the hyfrecator treatment it was going to keep them away for a least a few months but that was not the case! I am wondering why mine are multiplying so fast! I went from having absolutely nothing this past April to hundreds under each eye. I don’t understand why it can get so bad so fast, maybe something with my hormones? I wish I could figure out what it is that is causing them!!
Thanks Tara.
My doctor basically told me the same thing. No guarantee. He offered to try a few and see how quickly they’d grow back using hyfrecator.I really would like to explore something a little more promising. I am getting desperate. I just called them right now about the intralesonal electrodesiccation, the receptionist said she is not familiar and I should set an appt for consultation (sigh). So tiring and hopeless:(
Thanks for the advice Olivia! I’ve noticed online that people that have used accutane that didn’t have syringoma before start to get it after they use the accutane. Then the 2nd time they go on accutane they notice it makes it better. I wonder if maybe the accutane is doing something to the skin to cause the syringoma to come up later. Yeah I agree it is too much of a risk especially since I just got rid of my acne thanks to a more natural approach. Thank you for your advice :))
I have been on accutane for acne and not sure whether I had syringoma before I started treatment but most likely. While on accutane my skin looked very nice and I did not have syringoma, however now that I have been off for a year I have it, as well as my acne again. Accutane is a very intense process, although everyone’s results are different, I wouldn’t recommend it just to treat syringoma.
Hi Tara
It doesn’t sound like a difficult procedure – most derms should be able to offer this treatment.
Also I just wanted to add that I heard that intralesional electrodesiccation works very well to get rid of syringomas because it goes deeper than the hyfrecator or normal eletrocautery. I really want to find a derm who does it in CA. Has anyone heard of this or know of a derm that does it in the CA area?
Kim,
I would also like to add that depending on the size of your syringomas you might have to have the treatment done multiple times which is what celibre told me. Mine are pretty small, so it got rid of them after one treatment, but I just wish they didn’t grow back so fast!!!
Hi Kim,
I have heard about celibre and did a consulation there, but I did not feel comfortable doing the procedure there. I did it in a derm office in Beverely Hills. I had great success at first but unfortunately mine grow back at such a fast rate. If your syringoma grow at a slow rate I would recommend the hyfrecator otherwise it will just grow back soon after the treatment.
The derm I went to charges $250 for the whole face.
Hi Ann,
I am currently using a cream formulated with hydroquione and retin-a to get rid of the faint redness under my eyes. My derm made it for me.
I went to see a dermatologist in las Vegas, who specailaizes in cosmetic procedures, and he said that he does not like electrocauthery because of scarring. the only thing he recommended was a laser resurfacing with the Yag erbium because I have olive skin, but he he also said that he could not removed them completely only make them 50% better and on top of it I could get hyperpigmentation (darkening of skin)and the cost was 1500.00. I do not know if it is worth it to go through the pain, healing, and then wait for the hyperpigentation to go away, which can take over a year, only to still have them smaller and then come back eventually. I also went to see a dermatologist in San Antonio and he said the exact same thing, but he uses a new CO2 laser, cost 1200.00. I have done electrocautherization on some of the small that are coming out. People I have done research after research, and unfortunately, as of today I have not found something that seems promising. Yes it is very frustating, but I always try to remember that there are worst things outhere people have to deal with. Ours, is bumps around the eyes. I always keep my hopes up that soon they will come up with something that can help us.
I meant to say the scarring was so little that if you use the products religiously, it heals and minimizes to the point where it’s like that’s a scar?? It is skin and it will grow back. Remember that.

Sorry to get back so late to everyone. While this was all going on, I was getting married. The procedure that was done for me was electrocautery. Yes there was scarring but because of all the products that I was suppose to use while my skin was healing, I did not get discoloration nor did I get scarring. It flattened so much with the use of the products (Yon Ka) taylored to me by the certified aesthetician (one I’ve used for over 10 years, yes it has been that long). Like I said before in my earlier post, she is afflicted the same problem but she keeps doing it on a regular basis that it is not even noticeable (with and without makeup). I’ve had many of my friends tell me how great it looks and thank goodness it made for great wedding pictures. I will keep updating but trust is key. If you are in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, I will surely recommend you use my aesthetician. Many loyal patrons travel (one I know of, from Minnesota twice a year) to visit her. My email, tpcwmatpcwma@aol.com">vxcashmerexvtpcwmatpcwma@aol.com I am not promoting her for sales but more of a help for those who are afflicted as I am.
Hi Tara
Sorry I don’t know anything about acutane. I would always speak to a doc before trying anything. I know it is difficult but try to remember there are worse conditions than this.
I have done some research and heard that these options improve this condition:
CO2 laser, radio surgery, electro cautery, intralessional electro dessication, eye bag removal and electro-coagulation.
I think the intralessional and radio ones sound the most promising. Does anyone have experience of these? Any feedback on other options would be helpful, although it sounds like CO2 and Cautery are a bit useless.
J. Smith,
you must be a license physician because I just called to inquire about the cost of HYFRECATOR as I was thinking the same thing as you but they require you to send a physician license and so forth if you are to purchase. This is so devastating and frustrating, dealing with this problem. Can anybody ever find a permanent solution to this skin condition. The fact that it is not cover by health insurance makes it even worse.
I feel you all cause Ive been depressed and devastated with this condition. The sad thing that make it worse is the fact medical insurance do not cover this. So we end up trying every options costing us a lot of expense and pain and everything is temporary. I just want to cry right now. I feel hopeless. I am not ugly but this is making me ugly and old. I’m going to see a doctor on Friday. They use HYFRECATOR method. They said it’s free of scarring and its proven effective. Google it if you want. I’m not sure if I can afford the process, if I do and decide to have it done, I will share you the outcome. I’ve done electrocautery, everyone is right it will comeback and basically you’ll suffer with not fully gone syringoma and discoloration for a long period of time, not to mention the pain. Keep your heads up, you’re all beautiful in the inside, thanks for sharing <3
Tara,
I just read all your post again and you seem pretty happy. Now I just need to know the cost. I have good size ones on both side approximately 5 on each lower eye and maybe few more on my forehead. Thanks!
Tara,
This must be the place in LA you were referring to using Hyfrecator process in treating syringoma Please let me know the outcome. I am from sacramento and I would like to fly there just to have it done but since you’ve tried already. I would like to hear from you first. I would appreciate it very much if you respond. Everyone. Check this site. Not affiliated or anything. Just a website I research. They seem to specialist with our condition.
http://www.celibre.com/syringoma-treatment.aspx
Hi everyone! I’ve read every single one of your post and read gazillion web information about Syringoma. Like you I suffer with this problem too. My mom has this condition and I am the only one among my siblings that inherited it. Forgive me but it’s almost comforting to know I’m not the only one battling this problem. You are right. I had this since I was 16 I had two treatments since then using cauterization. Size were a bit reduced/flattened after the treatments, scarring took a while but it will eventually comeback to our skin color but the sad part of it was so as the syringoma. I have mine under my eyes and some on the forehead. I am 40 now and there seems to be more growing. I figure the technology to cure this problem should improve by now but everywhere I go, nothing seems promising. I can’t just sit here and not do anything about it so I am schedule to see a doctor tomorrow. I am willing to do anything that will minimize this problem because I can’t stand this anymore and I refuse to watch it multiply. Maintenance unfortunately is something we have to deal with for the rest of our lives, sad.I am Asian with moderately light skin. I will book mark this and I will give you all an update. Please share any success stories or good news.
Hi Tara,
I got mine removed about 2 and half months now. Of course, they start to grow back. Thus, those that I got removed are flattened but reddish/dark which is making it more obvious. I was wondering if you are using anything to make the scar fade because I too have the same fair skin as you do.
Thanks!
Hi ksilva,
I tried the co2 laser under the whole eye area (I have a lot of them) under each eye. It did not really help just made them a little smaller but then they grew right back. I have fair skin. It was maybe 2 months ago and it’s still a faint red.
Hi Dawn,
Mine are really starting to increase too I see more everyday. I honestly do not know what to do anymore. Do you think trying accutane would be too extreme? I’ve heard that it has helped some people. And I am super desperate as nothing else is working and I don’t want hundreds of bumps under my eyes.
Hi Tara
How old are you? Mine came up at around 19. I’m now 30 and they are starting to increase. It’s annoying as I had got used to the number I had (about 9 around each eye.) Now I’ve got at least 6 more overnight. I thought I might try electrocautery to manage it but tried in the past and made little diff although didn’t have an adverse effect. The only other treatment I can think is cutting a layer out – (rather than individually cutting each)that would remove about 5 at once. Anyway let us know if you have any success.
Tara,
Hi, what kind of laser did you had. Was it a laser resurfacing all under your eyes or was it spot treatment? Also, what type of skin do you have? Are you fair, olive or?? Did it leave any scar (like darkening of the skin or lighter)from the laser?
Stacey me too!! And they are growing at such a fast rate, it’s so depressing. I’m going to try a TCA peel, then accutane if that doesn’t work. I already tried electrocautery, laser, and retin a with no success. This really sucks
Im the only one in my family that have syringomas…
Burning my syringoma off did not help at all. More came and just within a week or so after the treatment. I am thinking about trying accutane to battle both my acne and syringoma. I have read comments from people saying that it has helped/a study. Anyone have positive results?
Hi Gail, I am 37 and had them since I was 15, however started getting worse about 2 years ago. I asked myself the same question, if it makes sense to burned them as they can continue to come back. I am afraid how it would look having them burned, then come back and then having the same procedure again. So far I do not know anyone old enough to see how this develops.
it will be my first time to remove my numerous syringoma around my eyes, whats the best way to remove it, im thinking of lazer and cauterization..pls guide me..
hi, I am a 40 year old female and I have had periorbital syringoma since age 12, within the last 10 years it has grown worse. Recently I had a trial removal with electrocautery, the area took about four weeks to heal completely, at first I thought it made little difference but as time progressed the lesions that were burnt are a bit flatter but the area has darkened a bit. By the way I am Afro Trinidadian with dark skin. I am sheduled to have more burning done but I don’t know if it makes sense. I never knew that the syringomas will eventually grow back does it make sense to continue treatment?
@Ksilva: Thank You so much, that was really helpful. I guess, It’ll take about 2-3 months for my scar (discoloration) totally disappear. However, I think you are right that my color would probably go back since I have a fair skin and I got it removed when i was young and it did come back (I just don’t remember, how long did it take for my skin color to come back)
Well I got mine removed for about a month and half. Still, in the process of healing like getting my color back because it definitely leave discoloration and I am hoping for my natural color to come back. Right, now I am applying Protisil on it everyday which my dermatologist recommended, It seems that it is not really making a difference been using it for about 3 weeks now. Do you guys have any suggestion for the scar to fade away quickly and get my natural color back? Thanks!
Thanks!
So it’s been a week since I got those 2 syringomas burned off, it took a few days for it to scab. But it completely healed 1 week after the burning was done with out any sign of the bumps and zero discoloration. I guess it turns out the dermatologist was right! When the rest of the ones I have get bigger I will definitely go back. I know the syringomas will keep coming back but I would rather have them maintained. Just in case anyone was wondering I am half Filipino/Irish with light brown skin. Oh yeah and keep plenty of neosporin on the scab while it is healing!!
@Fatima,
I’m half Filipino, half Chinese and have tanned skin. I’ve had bumps for about 6 years now and finally had one test-removed by electrocautery. It took about 3 months for the scab to fully heal and when it did, it left a mark slightly lighter than the rest of the skin. It’s hard to see but if I had all of them removed that way, I think it would be pretty noticeable. I’m looking into laser treatment, because supposedly it causes less scarring but for asians, possibly more discoloration. I don’t know anything about the Naturalis Syringoma Treatment. Hope this helps.
Any one have luck with retin a preventing syringomas? My derm says it can prevent it / slow it down. I think I am going to give it a try after my wounds from the burning heal. Any one have any luck with retin a use under the eyes. I hear it also helps with wrinkles, win win!!
Hi everyone. I am a Malay-Asian, and from Singapore. I went to a dermatologist about my syringoma and asked for a treatment to remove them. I was told that because I am dark-skinned, chances are, there would be scarring that will leave marks. These marks, because of my Asian skin, will only disappear after six months. I am 35 years old and have been plagued by these bumps for a good ten years of my life. I sometimes avoid looking at the mirror because I only see these bumps when I look at my reflection. Are there any Malays here who have undergone any treatments? I have read about Naturalis Syringoma Treatment. I am thinking of trying the product. Anyone here used that before, and if so, did the syringoma disappear? I want them removed so badly. Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I just got the hyfrecator (burning) done yesterday on two bumps just to test it. So far I haven’t developed a scab at all and it’s been a day in a half. It’s just a little pink and you could see that he burned through a layer of skin. But it is completely flat. I’m hoping that it heals well. This doctor is one of the best doctors in la and he said that he has never had a patient that has scarred from this procedure. He wanted to go ahead and do all of them but I just want to make sure that I don’t scar. He tried to reassure me that he’s done it many times even on his wife with out any scars but you never know everyone is different. I was expecting it be a lot worse and to have a scab. When did you guys develop scabs? I’m hoping that this heals well so that I can get the rest of them done. I will keep you guys posted.
Ann,
The process of healing after burning the lesions is a slow one. For me it took about two and a half months for the redness and sweling to go down. I was very scare in the beginning because it almost look the same as before but red. I went back to the dermatologist and she said that everyone heals different and sometimes it takes months to completely heal. Mine went pretty flat not completely but close and the redness went away, but the area is lighter. I do not think you can avoid that. Also, the outcome depends alot on how experienced is your dermatologist. It is good to make sure the doctor has experience in treating this condition. If you have fair skin and do not have dark circles you might get the area close to your color. Me as I developed dark circles the areas are more noticeable. The healing process takes time. I hope this helps…
@LINBON:
I was wondering when you got yours removed did it leave major scarring. If so, what medicine did you use to make it smooth or to help to minimal the scar?
Currently, mine is in the proces and I have major scars around my eyes if anyone of you guys done it before and left major scarring. Please advice what kind of treatment you guys did to make the scar fade away or to be able to get the color of your skin tone back.
Thanks,
Mary
@Ksilva,
Thank you so much for the respond and tips. Mine I got it removed about 3 weeks ago then it comes to discoloration my skin did not get lighter it kind of get redish which made it more noticeable. I have a fair skin and now my dermatologist told me to use “Prosil” that is a scar treatment that it should go away. I was wondering when you got yours remove how was the process?
Thank You for your time!
Ann, unfortunately discoloration (lightening of the skin) is almost always permanent. I had two removed 16 years ago and the skin is lighter. I had two removed 5 months ago and the skin is lighter. For me, as I have dark circles is even more noticeable. I have tried many concealers, and they just make my skin look worst. I started using Sheer Cover about 1 1/2 years ago and the concealer is really good as well as the foundation. I do not use powder under my eyes as is just makes the bumps more noticeable. I just dab the concealer and don’t rub too much. It is not a 100% cover up as I believe there is nothing outhere that will do that, but I found that is the best product so far that evens out my skin. You can also try dermablend but I prefer sheer cover. I hope it works for you.
@Ksilva, does the sheer cover really works to cover it up. I got mine removed about 3-4 weeks ago. Of course, it did teh same thing left minimal scarring and I am wondering if you know any product that it would remove the scar (discoloration)?
Please Advice
Thanks!
For the women outhere, I have found a concealer that works better for me and is from sheer cover. The regular concealers do not really help. I have dark circles and the bumps are a little lighter, and this helps to even the skin although the bumps are still there. After doing research, and getting a few opinions there is only two procedures for our problem that work in helping not getting rid of them. 1) Electrodessecation (burning with needle) 2) Laser. Both have scarring results as i know because i have had the burning and it leaves minor discoloration. The laser is mainly for people with white skin as if you have any color the risk for hyperpigmentation (darkening) is high. It is not easy to swallow knowing there is no really a cure for this.
Hi guys I have a lot of these bumps under my eyes I am going to a dermatologist next month to burn off 1 bump and see how it heals. If the healing goes well I will do the rest. It is frustrating knowing that that will keep coming back no matter what. But I would rather try to maintain the problem by removing them every few months then letting them grow into a big mass. I noticed that stress and lack of sleep make mine grow. I need to stop stressing and get some more sleep!
Hi guys. I am from the Philippines and thank you for all the things you’ve shared. i also have syringoma and am considering to have them removed or treated as well. i just got to talk with a surgeon and told me that dermabrasion would help to flatten it but not remove it visually. Its a risk that I am considering and I’ll repost update for the result.
hi.. i also suffering from syringoma.. i got this problem since i was 15 and now 1’m 21 =( a few month before i meet an anesthetic and suggest me to do some procedure which is same like removing the moles or warts… and i did.. she removed about 20 of my syringoma.. and yes it painful and it cost a lot…. but after i did this treatment yet it still growth..and i stop try this treatment.. then when i stop as i expected it growth a lot more around my eyelid.. i gave up and right now i don’t know any best treatment to this. i kept on searching but nothing promised to removed this problem permanently.. and its really broke my heart because i still young and have this problem. and i’m embarrassed with my friends cause they have good skin compare too me.. this is so frustrating ='(
I started to develop these small skin colored bumps that are getting bigger and more noticeable within the past two months. They cover the entire area under my eye (where you would typically get dark circles). Most of them are really tiny, but some of them are bigger and they keep on growing. I went to a derm recently and he said they are sweat glands that are visible, and they should not grow anymore and said he does not believe they are syringoma. But why did they just start popping up and keep growing when I just turned 24. But as they keep growing and I read about them online I feel this is what I have.I am going to another derm for a 2nd opinion next week. I’m very disappointed that you guys had such bad results with the electric needle method because I was considering trying that removal method. I feel so depressed knowing that it is just going to keep getting worse and I don’t know what to do. It’s really getting me down and I would hate for something like this to ruin my life. Any advice on what to do to cope or removal methods that worked would help and I pray for everyone that they get better. Thanks
@ niquee vasquez .what do u mean by pins? did it go away without scarring? how did u do it? thanks
i personaly have these wierd bumps ive had them for a couple of years even though some dematologists say it can not be cure with pins, i know other wise. if the bumps is made a small opening with a pin it will dry up (the bigger the whole the better)when it drys up if you simply run your nail over it, it will go away.
hearing that i probably won’t be able to get rid of them sounds very depressing :(… I am a male in mid 20’s with dark (light brown) skin and i started getting these last spring around my eyelids. More of these have shown up around my eyes since then. I live in Vancouver, Canada and went to see a dermatologist about a month ago and he told me that laser would work better than the burning? treatment that he could perform but it will be a lot more expensive. I ended up getting burning? treatment on just one of these little bumps, it hurt a little as I did not apply any anesthetic and noticed a little scar right after. I asked him to refer me to the laser clinic since I wouldn’t want these scars all around my eyes (I have a proffesional job). I went to see the laser dermatologist and he gave me all the bad news, laser will discolor the skin, they will come back, it will cost over $1000 and there is no treatment.
Now the bump that my dermatologist had burned doesn’t look too bad, its been about a month and bump is virtually not there, there is only a little discoloration. I am thinking about getting them all burned…. Does anyone has any experience with this??
I have seen two dermatologists in the past two months. One told me he could help me to make them look better, but that he could not make them go away completely due to the area and that they would grow back eventually plus I am already predispose to have them, and there was nothing I could do to prevent them. He told me he could do a laser resurfacing with the Yag Erbrium laser. He also said that because I have olive skin I could have hyperpigmentation due to the procedure (which is darkening of the skin). The other told me that he could help me with also laser resurfacing using the CO2 laser. They both told that electrocauthery was not good due to scarring. I have had electrocauthery in some areas and the skin is lighter in those spots. I am torn as to what to do with the laser because I am afraid that it will look worst than what it looks now. I will continue to research and see dermatologist and hoping for the best although it is very hard to cope with this condition.
Please tell us what is the outcome? For all those that tried different treatments to get rid of syringoma. Thanks!
Used the wart mole vanish cream, it did not work. Scabs were created which fell off within 2 weeks, left discoloured spots but the syringomas grew right back. Skin colour was back to normal after approximately 6 weeks.
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to share my experience with syringoma as I am afflicated as well. I’ve dealt with this since I reached puberty. I’ve gotten this stuff treated before when I was fifteen and it was terribly painful. They surgically removed each one, and by then I had more than 10+ on each eye. It was a very costly procedure. After about 6 months, a few started to grow back and as part of the maintenance I had them removed. When I stopped, new ones grew and grew, clustering until it was one big ol’ mess. I didnt go for a while (like 8 years) because I simply accepted. However, with my wedding coming up, I didn’t want them to be prominent. So I went back to the same esthetician who originally removed it to restart the process. I have them both on my top lids and bottom lids. Since I knew her for about 10 years, I trusted her, she was also afflicted with the same condition. She told me skin always regenerate and since syringoma is simply skin, it’s going to regrow back no matter what. She also said it is easier to treat it on the surface when there are one or two but I had literally over 50 on each eye top and bottom lid. My first session was in September, electrocautery. Yes it is an extremely painful process and I have a very high pain threshold. After about 1 week, the the scabs fell off and the area around my top lid (the first session) was completely smooth. My second session was yesterday. There is a lot of scabbing as of now but I know it will be ok. I’ve done it before. Hopefully this comment helped. The take home message is this: Syringoma is skin and skin will always grow back. It is part of the body’s processes of skin turnover and regeneration. Second take home message, be sure to trust the person you are dealing with and consider the risks vs benefits. If you don’t have many now, don’t wait. It will only continue to grow until there is a giant mass. That was my mistake–waiting. It was starting to grow from my lower lids to the cheeks. Thank you all for reading.
Hello guys, lets keep posting our experiences here! Anyone know other blog, website like this? We need to help each other with our experiences.
One year ago I did the electrocautery treatment, since then I have been trying to live my life without thinking about this shit. But I cant. Everyday I avoid to see my face in the mirror, so sad. I am thinking about doing some peels, maybe it can help me. These bumps are growing and growing and I dont know WHAT I did to have it 🙁 … Is it really genetic because neither my mother nor father suffer of this skin desease(?).
I am thinking about doing a biopsy… I cant live this way, i am so young (19), full of dreams… and sad.
I have about 4 under my left eye and I really want them gone! Saw an opthalmic plastic surgeon yesterday who said he’d cut 2 of the bigger ones off, no stitches, and see how I do. I am nervous to get this done and wonder if a scar will be worse? I would never use something like nevexin. Makeup does not cover these things. I wonder about topical atropine. I read that it can make them look better but have to find a doctor who knows about this. Anyone heard of this? I live in Southern California.
i had my syringoma removed last january 17, it leave scars until now it doesnt fade it looks worse than before since it leave dark spots around my eyes. so frustrating i dont want to look at the mirror..please somebody help me remove scars, i am trying this AS peeling recommend by my dermatologist but until now there is no guaranteed good result..
Hi, I have been suffering with this since I was 14 or 15, but they were very minimal. I am now 37 and they are appearing more. I had 2 electrocautherized @ the age of 21 and they did not grew back. I just went to dermatologist and she told me that my condition was very hard to treat and that in some people the glands under the eyes overgrow for some reason. I never has a biopsy done to make sure they were syringomas. That is what I was told the first 2 times I went to the dermatologist. I just had 3 burned, 2 of them are fine but I am struggling with one that was big and is still a litle bit raised. It definitely looks better than it was before. I am going to see a dermatologist, which I am driving 8 hours to see him, but he seems to be very up to date in the latest for cosmetic and growths on the face. I have hope, but it seems that all the research I have done it ends in the same procedures, and that unfortunately there is no cure for this.
I know how depressing it is, and how it can play with your confidence. What I think about is that I am still alive and there are worst things that can happen to you. I will keep you posted on my visit with the new dermatologist which won’t be for a month.
I finally found a home. I too of course have those annoying bumps the syringomas. I had them since I was in 4th grade and now I am 23 it multiplies. Well before it wasn’t that noticeable but these past few years’ people ask me what are those bumps around your eyes “ohh geez thanks for asking”. Well of course it is depressing to know that it is very noticeable. I have so much around my eyes both eyes; now there are even on top of my cheeks. Well, I got mine electrocuted before and of course it hurt as hell but it definitely came back with some friends along them. Well, I am really sad of having these syringomas but I look at the brighter side I am glad that I can still see which means that be careful on what kind of treatment you use because it might just get worse and make sure they are all certified.
I just wanted to know @ Erin from your post 5/18/2010, I was wondering did that product work? Also, all of those people that posted that they would try the wart vanish cream did it work? Please respond ?
I too feel as if i’ve found a home, i have syringoma on my the top/bottom of my eyelids and recently got them on my neck.i’ve had syringoma since 7th grade i’m now in my first semester of college and cant get rid of these “BUMPS” i dont know how many cautery procedures i’ve had but they all show the same results nothing. it has been a few years since i’ve had anything done and now i want to try something other than cautery, nothing painful. By the way cautery does make them appear smaller but its painful, make your skin a bit darker, and they always come back.
What types of things do you do to keep your self confindence from hitting the floor?
Is there an upside to using the wart removal cream?
Hi guys! same here. I started having syringomas at the age of 8 and Im now 27. They are around my eyes. But the most visible are the ones under my left eye. I did some research in the net and they say that asian women are more prone to this skin problem. Im scarred of undergoing surgeries etc., and I would really prefer oitments and creams. For those people who had already used creams and the result was successful, kindly share the good news and make ur blog updated. Coz Im one of those ppl who are frustratingly seeking for cure. Thanks in advance! Keep us updated =)
Dermobrasion should be considered?
Hello, I have the same problem, I have theses bumps since I have 15 years old and is frustrating. I feel that nobody in the healthy system cares. I did the electrocautery treatment, but I do not recomend it, in my opinion it don’t solve the problem…
I am feeling very sad and i can’t even look to myself in the mirror. But I can’t stop my life due to it. I just wanted to know if there is someone studying this skin problem, maybe we should try to call more attention to this issue… I know that there are a lot of deseases and etc, but people do not thing that syringoma is a BIG problem, that make ME or/and YOU depressed.
When I had acnes I used to take Roacutan, helped my syringomas, they stopped to grow… But when my acne treatment fisnished I stopped.
I would like to know if you guys think that diabettis or humor is related to syringomas. I mean, do you think that sugar and stress are related to it?
I hope one day we can find the cure to our problem.
Hi again. Just updating my posting from 5/24/10… I’ve been trying the Differin that was prescribed by a dermatologist, but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. The dermatologist said that it supposedly helps in preventing more from appearing. I’m not sure if it’s doing that. I’m not getting anymore under one eye, but I think I did get a couple more smaller ones under the other eye.
Hi to all, i found a home here, thank you.
I started to notice having syringomas in my teen years, I am 39 years old now.
I had laser skin treatment last May 22, 2010 at Harley Street here in the UK, so expensive! But those bloody syringomas are still there, it’s hopeless.
hi!!last month i just undergone in electrocauterization treatment,(i dont want to recommend this),it keeps me frustrated not only during the processing because it really hurts and its really not work…it will mark your face a scar when they zapped the affectted area especially near the eye and it create a multiple scab after the treatment then discoloration will follow and it takes 2 to 3 weeks more and after that it won’t totally dissapear..still there…id rather try some other treatment that painpull and effective…i need more suggestion..
maybe syringomas are protein related. i hope medical research on this will be pushed to discover new method of treating it.
I’m glad I found this site. I have syringoma under both eyes. I’m 37 and started getting them a couple years ago, but the amount of bumps have increased over the past couple years and I’d like to get rid of them. I went to a dermatologist in Orange County California and he said that he could treat it with an electric needle, I’m assuming this is the electrocautery treatment. I’ve done a little internet research into it and it sounds like there could be possible scarring, so I’m scared to do it. I don’t want it to become worse. And from reading some of the posts on this site it sounds like it’s not guaranteed to get rid of them anyway.
So this dermatologits prescribed Differin. But after doing a little internet research on that it sounds like Differin is more for acne treatment. Has anyone used Differin for syringomas? If yes, what were the results? Would you recommend using it?
Erin, I was looking at that same product from Naturalis Products. So yes, please let us know what your results are with it. I’m tempted to purchase and use their syringomas product instead. Thanks!
hi, I’ve had those ugly bumps since 2003, i started noticing this bumps around my eyes, i tried Ward Vanish Cream, it works cause it removes the whole piece of skin but you get scars that us girls can just put some make up to disimulate, its kind of an acid that burns the skin…I HATE THEM, i dont know but in the place where i put the treatment there is no more, but my problem is that mine are so smal that my skin looks like goosebumps arounf that eye ares, anyways i just foud this cream that im going to order today see if it works, im going to try it and then let you guys know about how it went with it. its called http://www.naturalisproducts.com/image/npsyringoma.jpg
hope yall ca take a look at it…
bye bye
Oh wow!! I finally found a home!! I have been dealing with syringoma since I was 13, now Im 26. They are on my neck and upper chest. When I was about 15 I had some on my chest removed through laser surgery and a few resurfaced about 10 years later. The “scaring” was minimal. The place where the bumps were was a little lighter but over time the skin got darker. Not the same complextion but dark enough not to stand out. I wanted to get the ones on my neck done but he moved out of my insurance network. This was over 10 years ago and Im now back on the hunt to find the doctor who performed this awesome task. If you are in the Chicago land area his name is Dr. David Pezin…you might have to play with the last name as it may be spelled Pezan.
I am 31 years old this year. I have syringoma problem since age 10 till now. At first I have 2 below my right eye. Then they are growing more and more these few years, which make me look very ugly.
I am trying syringoma removal cream from Naturalis, for just a few days but it seems nothing happen.
Had anyone tried this product before?

My mom has Syringoma and i have noticed tiny bumps developing under my eyes as well… and i am 14. I heard about a cream called Nevexin. Does anyone know if this works, and if there is a way that i can prevent my Syringoma before it gets worse?
I visited two dermatologists who are highly respected and both told me there is nothing I can do about it! That’s so depressing! I can’t believe it!
I have read all of your comments and I to have syringoma all round both eyes and getting worst as I get older. It runs in the family my sister and mother both have them. As a male I can’t cover them up with makeup! It sucks! You might as well have herpes it doesn’t go way either but at least you can suppress and treat herpes! It’s a shame the medical world -doctors don’t care about our condition and don’t see it has a treating condition. I’m on 5 days straight looking online for an effective treatment to no avail. But if I decide to do the laser surgery I found the latest laser out there is SmartXide DOT laser therapy represents the marriage of CO2 laser ablation and fractional skin resurfacing. Greatly diminished recovery time and much less discomfort. Used for numerous dermatological lesions including syringoma. Let’s pray it rids syringoma for GOOD!!!
I had my Syringoma removed with a laser. It HURT. It created scabs on my face which took about 2weeks to fall off, very noticeable. I now have some scarring and the skin is lighter in those spots. My Syringoma has came back but not on the scarred areas. I was told that this type of condition will always come back. SO frustrating.
hi i have syrigoma in my eyes i want to remove.. plz give me treatment……..
i have alot of them by the way and im young
i am 13 and i had syringoma since i was one or two years old. i have already had one remove but it grew back. i dont have them under my eye, they are on my nose and near my ears. i dont like them i just want them off. Any suggestions?
i have also syringoma,i want to go to the derma but im afraid to the result, after the medication what the result came, maybe it will become worst not my syringoma
I recommend consulting a Classical Hahnemannian Homeopath. Syringomas have been known to resorb under Homeopathic treatment, (gently, imperceptibly over a couple of months) but don’t go to one of the fly by nights out there.
If the syringomas don’t go as quickly as you would like, and you choose not to continue, you will at least have given your immune system a huge boost.
On another site i read of a woman who had used Mole Wart. She said it removed the syringoma but turned her skin rough and red and she wanted her syringoma back. She then tried Curad Scar Treatment “band aids” and found them effective and comforting. Skin is fine now.
If you’re anything like my friends with syringoma, you’re the nicest people in the world.
Wow, Im surprised at all the people afflicted with what I have, I thought I was the only one. Anyways I’ve had electrocautery and laser, they both sucked, they are costly, and procedures are embarassing for most so Ive decided to buy my own hyfrecator, because it looked easy enough and I personnaly think I could of did a better job than the doctors. So thats my opinion. What say you?
I also suffer from Syringomas and it is definitely detrimental to your self confidence. About four years ago I visited a dermatologist to get them removed and he used electrocautery. He treated multiple at a time (which I don’t recommend because you will have multiple scabs at the same time making you look weird, especially if the syringoma is on your eye lid as was my case) and the procedure was quick (not expensive). I wish he would have been more precise with while “zapping” them, but that’s a different story. Basically what happened is that I developed scars where he zapped and after about a week and half they fell. What is left once the scab falls is discoloration. To this day those spots are white compared to my normal skin color (fair to light). You can spot them, but they are not that visible and they can be masked with make-up/eye shadow. The good thing is that the spots are even with the rest of my skin and not protruding as before. They have not come back where they were before, but I do have new ones that have surfaced. There is a specific one under my left eye that is pretty big and I’m dying to get rid of it! I’m visiting my dermatologist (different then the one that removed them first) to see what my options are. I am probably leaning towards the same method because it was inexpensive and fast. I’m intereseted in carbon dioxide laser, but it seems that it’s so expensive and I’m not familiar with the results. Once I visit with the derm, I’ll post the results up to provide some insight to the rest of you.
Yeah I have clusters of deep syringomas under and above my eye. I’ve tried multiple things like electric needles (which caused the skin to be dark brownish for around a week and HURT) and also went to a laser skin center and they did a series of procedures on me including chemical peels, pixel and laser treatments but they still come back. The first time i did the treatment my eyes swelled up and were puffy for a whole week. I really don’t know what will get rid of them.
I’ve had Syringoma on my belly for years and now it’s under my arms & on my face it’s hurts so bad to look in the mirror. My dermotologist told me that’s nothing that can get rid of it because no matter who you insurance is they din’t care that I have syringoma they din’t care that it depresses me and makes mme so self confident when people look at me it seem like that’s all they see because that’s all I see there are so many of them I cant take it.I even scratched the ones under my eye just kept scaratching I just want them gone. Please if there is any way to get them off.
I have lots of really tiny bumps under my eyes. Went to a dermatologist and she said it was syringoma. She electricuted a few of them with a needle but it created redness and then a scab after a week. Once the scab has gone they were still there. She advised against laser, and said that maybe a chemical peel would work. She also perscribed me some vitamin A cream i think it was, but she messed the perscription up so i never ended up getting it. Not suer how good she was Im thinking of going to another. Where I have these syringoma I also have darkness as well, not sure if this is linked.
sssx
I found your blog on google and read this great post. I just added this site to my Google News Reader. I Look forward to reading more here in the future.
I had syringomas above my eyelid. A very big one on the corner of my left eyelid and then 2-3 clusters underneath the eyebrows on both eyelids. I went to a dermatologist and she used electro-cautery to remove them. She charged me $150 for the removal of 3. I paid about $450 to have 10 of them removed. The only problem, they came back after 3 months.
I then purchased the mole wart vanishing cream from Pristine herbal for $79.95 about 3 months ago and I can safely say that it works. The cream stings but the syringomas fell off after about a week. It did leave my skin red but the blemish disappeared after 45 days.
My only complaint is that I wish the container would have included more of the cream. You get a very small amount for what you pay for and that will be good for the removal of about 10-15 syringomas. The rest of the box comes with stuff like toothpicks, plastic applicators, and a very sharp needle.
Has anyone tried the wart vanish cream on syringomas? It seems that the skin around the eyes is so sensitive.. I’m afraid to try anything so harsh. I’m wondering if anyone has had success with this method of removing syringomas from under the eyes ( cheaper than Co2 treatments ! )

Vanessa: Price of Co2 lasers might depend on specialist hand. ranging from $500-$3000
hello, i want to know if nevexin and molewart vanish works? im scared to have a electrocautery, from what i was told it would take 4 to 5 days to heal, and there’s no gaurantee that the syringoma will never appear again and the worst case scenario, it might multiply.
i also want to know how expensive is CO2 laser?
has anyone tried the wart remover? I’d like to know how it works !
hi i have syringoma under my eyes and the derma suggests CO2 laser because it will get the root of the syringoma unlike with cautery it will only burn the embossed part that is visible but syringomas will still come back on both treatments however with CO2 it will take about 2-3 months before the syringoma will come back….. it its not bothering you too much leave it as it is. I have friend who had a cautery and co2 laser from famous derma but syringoma still comes back even more!!!!! wooo…. scary
hi i have syringoma on my chest, arms and thighs miltiple i hate this things

There is a wart removal fro syringomas I am going to try it..I had laser done four times and some of them are comming back..I hate this shit.
i went to the doctors, she sent me to a dermatologist at the hospital, i have to have a skin biopsy to check its syringoma, if it is she said a chemical is dabbed on and then they just fade away, although the more i read about things like chemical peels am getting a bit worried, has anyone had all this done? is it painful?
i want to know if anyone has tried “molewart vanish and its efficiency because i need a cure for my syringoma and i dont want surgery.
i hate it people keep asking alot of question about it, i dont even like to look at it.
if i do try to get rid of it ,is it a possibility that it will come back ?
if your lesion are not bothersome you can just leave it as it is.but if you are fraustrated you can contact a good dermatologist and have it removed with either surgical or any other methods that he suggest like dermabrasion, chemical peeling, electrocautery , Electrodesiccation and curettage. If you have any problems please visit our forums ..
