Some people are blessed with naturally healthy skin that has a glow and isn’t prone to stretch marks or scars. The rest of us have to take steps to keep our skin healthy. You can load up on vitamins, but your body and health will benefit more from making some dietary changes. Whether you are battling wrinkles or hoping to avoid stretch marks when you have children, here are some foods you can add to the diet that can help your skin stay healthy, elastic and beautiful.
-
Water
Technically it’s not a food, but consuming plenty of this liquid is essential for the health of your body and skin. The water actively works to remove toxins from your system, help you look and feel great.
-
Berries
It doesn’t matter if you’re drawn to strawberries, blackberries, blueberries or the exotic acai berry. They are all loaded with antioxidants, and that is good news for your skin. If you don’t have time to shop for berries, wash them and add them to your cereal, then you can consider getting your daily dose through a drink mix like monavie.
-
Sweet Potatoes
This vegetable isn’t just for Thanksgiving, you can enjoy it throughout the year. The great benefit of yams and sweet potatoes is that they are an excellent source of beta-carotene. Your body will use this to help generate new skin cells.
-
Spinach
This vegetable is known for helping you grow strong, but it can also prevent wrinkles. It will provide you with high doses of vitamin C, vitamin E and beta-carotene. It’s also easy to add spinach to your diet by sneaking it into fruit smoothies and using it on sandwiches in place of lettuce.

Walnuts and Pecans
Walnuts are rich in fatty acids, and pecans are loaded with vitamin E. They are both great for your skin. The vitamin E in them will actually create a protective barrier in the membranes of your skin cells, essentially keeping the skin elastic and healthy. The great thing about walnuts and pecans is that you can easily add them to salads, vegetables or just eat them straight.
Whether you add these miracle foods to your diet by sipping on great juices like Monavie or adding more ingredients to your salads, your skin will start to look healthier. The improved elasticity and strength will help you fight wrinkles and avoid dreaded stretch marks. Start taking care of your skin early by making the right dietary choices, so you can enjoy youthful looking skin for years to come.
These foods have great amount of anti-oxidants that are great for the skin. For anti ageing, I have been using Parachute’s new summer variant. Its mint and coconut extracts make my skin light and fresh.
I really enjoyed reading this post on food that help your skin. I’ve always known about water and berries can be beneficial for your skin but I had not heard of sweet potatoes before.
Really true. I always make sure I drink a lot of water to help me remove toxins in my body and to help me cleanse my system. Aside from digesting all that are mentioned, I would also like to add that if you want a fair complexion or healthier and glowing skin, apply papaya or if you don’t have that in your country, use tomatoes. Rub it on to your face and body and leave it for about 10-15 mins. It will not only gives you a glowing skin but also makes your skin tightened.
