Skin cancer is a disease in which skin cells lose the ability to divide and grow normally in the human body. Healthy skin cells basically divide in an orderly way to replace dead cells and grow new skin. Abnormal cells can grow out of control and form a mass or 'tumor' in the body. When abnormal cells originate in the skin and the mass is also called a skin tumor.

I would like to share quite a few skin checks tips for prevention to detect early any abnormality onto your skin as early diagnosis and treatments for skin cancer will radically improve odds of total recovery.

Regular monthly self skin inspections are necessary in protecting against cancer of the skin. I recommend that once a month, you look at yourself starting from head to feet, spread you hair apart, look in the mouth, spread your buttocks apart, look in between all your toes to check out any new skin moles or moles that are having new colors in them, which are growing or commencing to burn, itch or bleed. In addition you'll want to examine bug bites or pimples that haven't cured. Normally, those should heal in a matter of few weeks. Just in case they are not removed or beginning to grow, definitely would have them check by your skin doctor. Know more about the skin cancer symptoms.

Skin cancer is also a disease of the human body's skin cells usually as a result of skin cell damage. Skin cancer begins in the lower layer of the epidermis such as the outside layer of the body skin. The epidermis contains mostly three different types of cells such as squamous cells, basal cells and melanocytes.
