I Skinned my forehead

I skinned my forehead on a carpet, its been about a week now, it is still pink, but hardened up. i bought mederma because i really REALLY don't want anything permanent on my face as a result of this skinning. It seems like only the top layer of skin is gone, but still i don't want anything permanent on my face as a result of this. So is mederma the best to prevent any permanent notice on my face of this injury? btw i skinned it on a carpet lol
